There was a STRONG skunk and metalic flavor/aroma that really spoiled this one for me. Other than that there was a nice banana and light chocolate aroma with a caramel and hop aroma with a firm bitterness that did not linger. I really need to find a better cared for beer as this had great potential but was ruined by the liquor store that carried it. hughie (3090), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2006 Hazy amber with a large head. Sweet aroma of malt, vanilla and honey with some yeast and Seville oranges. After that the taste is a bit disappointing: sourness predominates with some rather alcoholic sweetness in the background. Dry ending. I’m sorry to say I haven’t really got on with the Moinette collection. FrankJohansen (3398), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark

Very good carbonation keeps a thin foam on the surface. Excellent aroma with cookie dough, apricots, black cherry, sweet malts, brown sugar and some caramel. Damn this aroma is good. Just hope that the flavor stands up as well. Color is a hazy dark orange. Malty, yeasty with a little fruit and some spices. Simple yet very good. Quite refreshing. Hides its alcohol pretty well. Finish is a little pasty and malty with a little lingering yeast and spice. A damn good dubbel! Got to find me this one locally. Boy I really like these Dupont beers. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2006 Draft at the Flying Saucer. Poured a dirty looking brown, with a half inch bubbly off-white head. Very cloudy. Aroma was kind of tough to detect on behalf of the smokey bar. However, the taste was nice and strong. Started with some dried fruit (plums, prunes) and some ginger tastes. Also, some light bread and grain tastes. Fairly sweet, almost candylike at times. Fruit flavors lend to an overlying tartness. Finishes with a pear taste, and then dries out immensely due to that classic Dupont yeast. Med/light mouthfeel, but creamy, and the carbonation is not QUTIE as carbonated as the Vielle Provision. Good stuff, fruitier and less malty than other abbeys I’ve had. nick76 (2695), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 7, 2006 The aroma has cola, yeast, vinegar, and fruit. The appearance is cloudy purple brown with a nice foamy head. The flavor is sweet and bitter without being too strong or too weak. The palate is average for the style. Overall it’s pretty much what I have come to expect from Belgian ales.
