Commercial Description:
Famous for their Saison Ale, Brasserie Dupont is also renowned in Belgium for their Moinette. This sturdy ale has an herbal bouquet that indicates its well hopped character. But unlike its drier cousin, its body is fuller and rounder with a slightly sweet finish. Delicious before a meal and with foods like marinated meats and barbecue.

reddish brown app with medium, off-white head...aroma of cherries, lemons, and spices...flavor was a wonderful mixture of flowers, spices, sugars, cherries, caramels, and malts impressive to say the least

Ruddy orange-red body with tons of yeast sediment; medium tan head. Aroma of dark fruits (cherry, plum) and sweet breads, with a touch of cotton candy, honey, and plenty of esters, lending an interesting spicy character. Surprisingly light and herbal flavor with flower petals, dark fruit, toast, apple, and residual sugars as well as spices (pepper, coriander), finishing dry and spicy. A bit vinous. Nicely complex; I didn’t expect the herbal, spicy character to compete with the malts as it did.

750 mL bottle, corked & caged (2003 cork): mostly clear brown strawberry with thin off-white cream with amazing retention. Yeasty aromatics with lightly buttered toast, dark malts and the faintest hints of hops and alcohol. Tingly carbonation gives way to a creaminess that glides across the tongue. Yeasty esters dominate a palate full of dark, luscious fruits (pears, red apples), biscuity malts, and chewy sourdough. Finish is long, dry and peppery. Enough depth and character to be considered a great brew, but simple enough to enjoy without much thought.

Small tan head, fair retention, minimal lace, pop like head, fizzy. Yeasty, malty nose with citrus and dark fruit notes also. Lightly murky, brown/orange hued brew. Medium bodied, well carbonated start that settles down to make it an even more enjoyable drink. Nice maltyness, hints of caramel, mild sourness, medium kilned malts, brown? Hints of fruit, raisins, light bananna notes exposing themselves as it warms. Medium sweet finish showing some earthiness and alc. notes.

Red/brown, some couldiness, a big off-white head. Cidery nose with a touch of lemons, yeast, black pepper. Flavor is tangy, medium sweet, with a slightly harsh bitterness and some yeasty funk. Somewhat watery.
