COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Famous for their Saison Ale, Brasserie Dupont is also renowned in Belgium for their Moinette. This sturdy ale has an herbal bouquet that indicates its well hopped character. But unlike its drier cousin, its body is fuller and rounder with a slightly sweet finish. Delicious before a meal and with foods like marinated meats and barbecue.

(2006 bottle) A slightly sweet aroma with hints of dark fruits. Pours a reddish amber color, with a small off-white head. Interesting flavor, notes of wood, fruit, yeast, and a touch of alcohol. Long oak/bitter finish, fairly light in mouthfeel. Overall, a good beer, but not something I’ll go out of my way to find.

Hazy copper with a thin lacy lasting frothy reminiscing head. Smells of deep toasted malt, caramel, and candy brown sugar with soft Belgian yeast. Initial taste of sweetness with candy sweetness but softened bitterness in the middle overall with a fruity grape and pepper finish. Lots of caramel and toffee. Very nice dubbel.

I’m a great fan of Brasserie Dupont, specially of its saison, and I expected crear things from Moinette. Well, it’s not a bad beer at all, but I prefer many others into the style. This one is very correct, well brewed, with a red wine touch that enhances the overall with a slightly acid nuance. Good beer.

Aroma: caramel, toffee, grain and bread malts, molasses. Appearance: clear, dark brown, small to no head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: sweets continue, get somewhat dry, heavy caramel and grain malts, bitter finish, lively carbonation. Overall: decent Abbey Dubbel, quite subtle in aroma. Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn.

Excellent beer as can be expected from Dupont. It is a rich full beer yet not too heavy. Full of flavor still easy to drink. Nice hazelnut brown with a small head and pleasant carbonation. Flavor is complex with sour notes., hop bitterness, spices and lots of overripe fruit. Some citrus and melon.

In paultje van tap. Prima kleur, dun schuim. Ruikt beetje muf maar niet vies. Prima, maar wederom niet heel speciaal

Lichte chocolade bruine kleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt mout, kruiden, iets fruit. Smaakt chocolade, vanille. Beetje kruiden, bitter.
