Cask at the ’Freshfield’ near Southport, pours a reddish copper colour with a lightish head. Sweet malts and a nice dry finish.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Red amber. Fine tan cap of foam. Plumy caramel malt, a touch of apples, rich, soft, attractive. Full malty richness, but enough rustic hop edge to reinforce the finish. Subtle autumn fruit esters. A nice malt-centric ale, in really good shape. Rating 600 for me. In the pleasant company of imdownthepub and the crowd from Banbury.

Cask (somewhere in Helsinki) Nutty brown colour - and the flavour delivers everything the look promises, and more. Hazelnuts, full fruitiness, maybe apple, and loads of malt.

(Cask) Dark coppery colored, little thick light brown head. Licoricy and rich hopped aroma with nice lemon. Medium bodied. Flavor is also rich with licorice and hopped flowers, nice dry aftertaste with caramel and lemon.
