chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Jul 22, 2004 Seemed a bit "standard" for a strong bitter to me. Sure, the malt and hops are there, and in reasonable balance, but there was nothing to really hold my attention. Went down quite nicely though. Mid brown coloured with some bubble gum fruit flavour. Slightly dry bitter lasting finish. leaparsons (3903), Leicester, Leicestershire, England May 29, 2006 Cask, Last Plantagenet, Leicester. Deep amber with a dense head of foam. Aromas are very malty with cookies and some berry fruitiness. Flavours are rich malts with hints of citrus and berries. Dry towards the finish. SilkTork (3881), Rochester, Kent, England Feb 7, 2004 White Cliffs Winter Ales Fest. Gravity. Dark amber. Not much aroma. Darkly tangy bitter. Pleasant enough, but not impressive. sayravai (3047), Helsinki, Finland Aug 13, 2004 (Cask conditioned @ Pullman Bar, Helsinki) Nice dark amber color with very small head. Quite strong and pleasant, even wineous, aromatic-hoppy and bitter aroma. Bitter, very aromatic, slightly sweet flavor. Not quite as pleasant as the aroma. Light to medium-bodied, quite thin palate with low carbonation. A decent brew, but I was a bit let down after sniffing the great aroma.
