1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Jan Primus (160) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 18, 2008
One of the more skunky tasting lagers out there, I never enjoyed this style of beer...and this is one of the worse examples.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 cbkschubert (2685) - Cochise Co., Arizona, USA - MAY 18, 2008
12 oz. bottle from Wal-mart - As far as Pale Lagers go, this one is not too bad. Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a large white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is soapy and herbal. Flavor is lightly sweetened grain. Medium body. Fairly smooth. Not too bad.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 MrBeerFanatic (502) - jamestown, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2008
Watered down, with a nasty before and aftertaste. Nothing good going on here really.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 phishpond417 (2089) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 14, 2008
Besides the little if no aroma this beer has, and its pretty much lifeless body, I would have to say this tolerable Canadian swill. Clear golden, white top, pretty firm malted flavor with stale hops in the finish.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 daknole (5474) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 8, 2008
I am shocked this beer gets rated above a 2. I can hardly find it any better than our worst beers in America. Smells and tastes horrible.
2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 spikester (602) - Salem, Oregon, USA - APR 25, 2008
Pours deep gold with a 2" white head and fair amount of lacings.
Aroma is corny and metallic.
Good malty flavor with hops having a minor role. Very similar flavor profile to Coors regular though not identical. Wouldn’t turn down a freebie!
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 arventresca (394) - Greenville, North Carolina, USA - APR 23, 2008
Pours clear and a hint darker than golden. Smells skunky. Taste like your typical macro. Drinkable but not stellar.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Wulfstan (509) - California, USA - APR 21, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2008 This is a decent, basic lager that clearly beats most (but not all) of the basic US macro lagers. However, to me it ranks a little below Moosehead, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Miller High Life.
It’s gold, a bit on the more bubbly side, with a long-lasting medium, white head. The aroms ia pleasant if nothing great - honey, alcohol, corn, hay, dust, and seems rather sweet and a litle perfumy. It’s somewhat like Country Club Malt Liquor. The atset is basically light sweet grain, mostly corn and cooked rice, with a light bitterness that has only a slight perfumy quality. It’s a bit on the thin side but drinkable.
