2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Canadianlush (169) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 26, 2007
Because I hail from the Great White North friends seem to go out and buy Canadian before I come over. It’s a nice gesture but not a great beer. Bland and boring you can taste the preservatives that go into such a mass produced beer. Pale yellow in color, pours with almost no head. Smooth but very simple. Still better than any of its American competition (Bud, Coors, Miller) but not worthy of a space in my fridge.

I can’t believe what I’m about to type, but this beer was pretty damned tasty! Sure, I drank it ice cold. But I don’t care what Pale Lager you are drinking, you really have to drink this style of beer cold. An interesting aroma. Slightly soapy, a little winey (white wine) but clean. Nothing skunky, nothing corny. Nice. Appearance was a brilliant yellow-gold color with a huge pillowy head. Mouthfeel was light, crisp and clean. Flavor was equally as clean with a slightly dry finish. Sure, there are no hops to speak of in the nose or the palate. But give me a pale lager that is a hoppy explosion. They just aren’t there. If I let this get warm would it taste like shit? Probably. Just don’t let it get there. Clean and refreshing. I think I might have a new favorite lawnmower beer.

This beer is like a favorite sweater...a bit of a comfort beer that reminds me of younger days. Don’t think I’ve ever had it unless it was followed by at least 5 more. This is a true Canadian session beer. Just not a very good beer:)

Good beer, slightly more bitter than its closely related friend, Labatt. Worth a try, but Labatt is still the better choice.

Great pounding beer. I’d take Canada over Coors light anyday for getting wrecked on a 12’er. Not a horrible beer, just entirely too average and low flavored for my taste.
If I know it’s going to be one of those nights where I might wake up next to somebodys dog in the laundry room, I’ll grab an 18 of these bad boys.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 nearbeer (2572) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 9, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2007 Brown bottle, sidereal date stamp K30623 18:32B (the best I can surmise is maybe it was made by a robot at 6:32 PM, June 1923 on assembly line K30, galaxy B?). Skunk-perfume aroma lingers on this lager; maybe it really was bottled in 1923? Straw-gold urine rests below small-to-medium head. Taste follows aroma: skunk-spray entry turns hop-oily, then rye-nutty-sweet. Rice syrup aftertaste may be the best part of this beer. Palate is a bit oily. I thought this was supposed to be the good Molson; don’t know if I can make the sacrifice to rate the green (superskunked) bottle Molson now. Did the buyout of Coors really cause all this?
