COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Molson Brewmasters have created a new standard in smoothness with Molson Golden. Each batch is brewed with pure spring water and features a unique two part hopping procedure. Galena hop essences are added in the brewing kettle, followed by the addition of a patented, mild hop after fermentation.

Probably the best of the Molsons I’ve had and I’d rather not try any more to see if I can find better. Golden colored with malts, sweet, cereal and a bit stale tasting but it’s at least not skunked or foul (ie Molson Ice). Not horrible.

Molson Golden is a pale golden lager with a small fizzy white head. It has an aroma of... a vat of chemicals and creamed corn. It feels like stale fizzy water. Flavor is mostly cardboard, but the skunk is present as well. A touch of bitterness at the finish almost redeems it. No, it doesn’t. Only the MacKenzie Brothers could drink this.

Bottle. Smells like skunk, no surprises there. Yellow with thin white head. Taste kind of reminded me of a bad champaigne. It brought me back to my Canadian drinking days.

Appearance: clear gold, fine white head, bits of drippy lace,
Aroma: skunk aroma hits you as soon as you pop the cap, closer inspection offers nothing except the skunk and maybe a bit of earthyness,
Flavor: sweet malt flavor, touch of cereal, light earthy hops for balance, finishes with a candy sweetness,

Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow body with a thin, white head. Smell: Strong skunkiness, you can smell it immediately upon opening. Beyond that, there’s a scent of over boiled corn niblets. Take your pick. Taste: Corny taste with a medium corn syrup sweet. Yeesh. Shamefully skunky. Mild bitterness. Finishes with a slight sweetness. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Pretty gross, actually. The beer totally nose-dived after the appearance. Not recommended whatsoever.

Pale gold color that I don’t really like too much. Distictive taste that is very macrobrewery generic. Not as drinkable as Canadian. Odd aftertaste that has an alomst sourness to it. There are better "staples" for the beer fridge.

From a 355 ml green bottle dated Sep 28 08 and lot coded 00135NB. I have been meaning to review this widely available biere for a while. Pours straw yellow (not really golden) with a carbonated white head that hangs around for a few minutes. Aroma of grass, light hops, and maybe some metal. A bit watery in the mouth but not offensive. Taste is distinctively Canadian macro (like Moosehead/Labatt) with a faint touch of hops. It’s always been smooth enough and a lot of people I know like this one. Molson Golden is not my first choice from this brewery; I tend to lean toward Molson Canadian. But it is still cheap enough around here and not intolerable.
