One of the best macrobeers I’ve tried. Smooth, nice subtle flavor. Very refreshing, otherwise, fairly average in appearance and all other markers.

it smells only slightly, but like rotten corn. tastes too sweet, even a little like malt liquor, its a deep golden in colour. only 4.7% apparently and its even slightly more expensive than the macro flagship brands, i dont know why the beerstore bothers selling all these wierd slightly different variants
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 blipp (3600) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - APR 2, 2008
Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet malt and fresh barely. Light body, fairly crisp. Flavor is all malt, lightly sweet, just a hint of hops. Not actually that bad.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 DeadGuyFrank (347) - http://westchesterbeer.com, USA - MAR 23, 2008
Smooth, smooth, grassy lawn tasting lager, the label and description state Gelena hops were added, not much but more distinctive than the American beer monsters.....not bad, especially at a baseball or hockey game.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 scooterbub (532) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - MAR 14, 2008
Bottle. Pours a golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is of hops and grain. Taste is slightly sweet, has a fruity/apple flavor and some hop presence. Is slightly watery, but is also very smooth and clean. Overall, this is not a bad beer, but the smell can be interpreted as being skunky. I wouldn’t mind buying this beer again.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 MrRain (472) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 26, 2008
12oz bottle poured into a lager glass. MG pours... (drum roll please...) pale yellow with a white head. It has a strong aroma of cooked corn. The body is light with a slightly oily texture. The flavor is heavy in grain and a tad watery. This is a pretty good example of the style but a perhaps a little light on the hops.

Molson Golden!!! Back in my macro drinking days, this beer was my Alpha & Omega. I LOVED this stuff, and any place that served it on tap instantly went to the top of my list of favorites!! Budweiser be damned, THIS was the King of Beers IMHO!!! Let’s see how it stands the test of time.
Pours from the 12 oz green bottle (potential skunk alert!!!) the advertised golden color with a large foamy head that settles into a thin collar that clings to the sides of the glass. Good carbonation. The aroma is a mix of malt, corn, and a metallic, hoppy bitterness. Taste is somewhat dry and grainy, clean malt with mild hops bitterness. It has a kind of subdued pilsner flavor. Mouthfeel is good...light, but not watery. I could DEFINETLY still pound quite a few of these over the course of a night. Overall, my palate has changed, my tastes have changed, and this is no longer my absolute #1 favorite beer, but I think it is STILL head & shoulders above any other mass produced pale macro lager out there (yes I gave it a couple of nostalgia points, but no one said that’s not allowed). When money’s tight between paychecks, or i’m hanging out with macro drinking friends, this will remain my macro beer of choice.
