Sort of a skunk-like smell, but the taste is nothing like that. Has a nice pale color to it. Not as good as the original Canadian. DirtyJerd (61), Edinboro, Pennsylvania, USA

When I tryed it I was actually shocked it had a sweet taste to it and it went down pretty smooth I was very impressed with this beer even though i was scared because it was in a green bottle. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Bottle, not the worst, pale lager I have had reminds me of MGD in fact. A bit of hops, semi skunky. A touch of malts, mostly light. Nothing special here at all but not repulsive. faroeviking (6023), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2007 A blast from the past. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, I used to buy twelve packs of this in cans from Glen’s Market in Traverse City to take on hikes in the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore. I found it light and refreshing and sometimes I even finished all twelve before heading home. Will I still like it more than a decade later?
Pours a nice gold color, topped by a soft pillow of white foam. The beer is quite effervescent. Good head retention and thick paint-like lacing. Discernable hops in the aroma - it kinda smells like a Czech pils. Unfortunately, just a little skunked in the aroma. Back in the day I could get bottles or cans of this. I used to swear by the cans (tasted fresher and easier to take hiking).
Mildly grainy flavor, with light cereal malt and light hopping that tastes like a noble variety to me. Light body, generous carbonation, very soft beer. Drinkable? Maybe not so attractive anymore. But poundable? Absolutely. I only bought a single bottle, but I betcha I could still put a serious dent in a twelve pack of cans.
After finishing this bottle, I am not exactly satisfied by the beer, but I do find myself becoming homesick for hiking the wooded dunes, picking wild berries and apples, and building a fire on the shore of Lake Michigan. Sigh... mansquito (821), Boston/Philadelphia, USA

Opened it and the head smelled mad skunky. It was pretty much Heiniken. Definately above the average macro, but nothing great. I am very willing to call this a legitimate beer. Eh...
