Why molson have two lame pale lagers? I decided to not investigate until after I drank the 6-pack to see if i felt drunk. In the end i was drunk and i realized this was a stupid experiment. collieman (191), montreal, Quebec, Canada

And Let me tell you, it’s not what it was. Molson Golden Ale was a unique little brew back in the day.{I’m talkin the 70’s man....} It was malty, and the hop character was intence yet tiny, achived from using a small amount of VERY bitter hop. Pale lagers and "Canadian Ale {50, export, ext..}" were dominating the market, everything with flavour was being chased away, and this one {along with brador} hung in till the bitter {Our should I say bland} end. It was re-intoduced as Molson Golden about 8 years after it’s retirement in the early 80’s, as a golden malty ale with very little caracter than the bready malt and oily body. Still better than most swill. Now it’s disapered in canada, but molson is making a Pale Lager and stamping it with the clasic ale label. Pours slight greenish olive oil tinge, small bubbles make up the medium high carbonation, thin grainy head, with a sandy slightly oily body. Aroma is honeyish malt, dough, grass and some tin. Flavor is corn meal, light bready malt and green grassy hop. Undertones of slight bitterness, cereal, sweet golden syrop, corn oil, crisp hay, and rice. Aftertaste is sweet malt with an Metalic touch, so much coper taste infact I thought I was having a little stroke. not a beer for the books. Actualy kinda of intresting for a lager made for the greater american public, but not intresting enough, or good enough for that matter. Nothing like the clasic, not nearly as good. Pleasant grainy aroma with some honey and ashtray qualities, dough, grass, and sulfur. Flavor is soft cornflake malt with floral notes. Just a tad sweet. Light but firm and round mouthfeel. Surprisingly filling. Malt and iron aftertaste. For me, it approaches a Dortmunder-style lager. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

On the palate this is light and airy and great for a summer day on the deck in the heat. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA

It does taste good, especially ice-cold out of a cooler. Nothing special. Its like a Canadian Coors yellow-can, hoser. bigrond (1044), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 6, 2005 this is decent. It’s light with a good ’light’ flavor, like a pale lager should. Nice light color but weak on flavor -- as i expected. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA

Maybe they need to be served at sub zero temps that are unattainable at my house, I don’t know. Nejhleader (929), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA
