1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
This has to be the best beer you can get for a $6.00 12-pack. Not offensive in anyway and quite pleasurable to drink. OV, you are a pour mans dream.

POurs a light yellow colro with a white head. Aroma is really bland but is grassy and sweet. Flavor is also very sweet with corn flavors and other adjuncts

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Growing up in Western New York, this was one of the first beers I ever drank. Its cheap. Real cheap. Keystone cheap. Anyway, on to the rate. Pours pale gold with a fizzy white head. Grainy aroma. The flavor has a bit of sweetness with grain and hay. inoffensive and easy drinking.

Pours a golden yellow color. Aromas of corn, grains, and a little hops. Flavor is smooth grainy with a detectable hop presence, finishes with a sweetness.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Old Vienna is a clear, light golden lager with a quickly dissipating white film of a head. The aroma is very faint and fruity, perhaps wooden. Light to medium bodied, it starts smooth but ends up shredding the mouth. The flavor is pretty faint, but I can actually taste some hops. There are notes of grass, hay, corn; maybe wheat and lemon. I really expected much worse.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: APR 28, 2008 Bottled at the Spur in Waterloo. This beer was neither old, nor a Vienna. Okay okay that was a lame joke! The most tiny and insignificant trace of caramalt sets this apart from other crappy beers at bars. Meh, I didn’t have to pay for it, which is always a good thing for the over-all impression score!

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Rated while drinking: Pours the color of yellow corn with an unattractive diminishing white head. Actually has a teensy bit of hops in the aroma. Weird bottle smell though. Tastes pretty mainstream, but surprisingly nothing too "off". Probably because there’s actually hops present in the sea of bad malt and adjuncts. Nothing going on in the palate; carbonated water feel. But drinkable. Had no idea what this was, but picked up a 12 pack at Wegmans for 6 dollars. It’s pretty refreshing to watch a ball game and tip these back. Don’t think I’d be a repeat buyer though.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
My goal is to rate all the beer I’ve tried. That means rating the bad ones along with the good ones. This is one of the bad ones. Where I went to University, this beer had the raunchy nickname of "’Ol Vag___", but I was not informed of that until after trying it.
This is one of the old Carling O’Keefe products (Carling O’Keefe’s Ol’ Vienna Lager) that was popular in the late 70s and early 80s complete with television commercials. It pours a weak yellow colour with little head. The aroma was very skunky (every time I have tried this). The taste is rather skunky as well, not a friend to the mouth at all. Strong carbonation, and very little discernable maltiness. The more I thought about it, the less I liked it. After a couple, I was able to safely declare it among the worst Canadian beer I had ever tasted.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2007 Not an exceptional standout beer, but when you consider that THIS was a big brand about 20 years ago, it makes you think. More character than Canadian...not really hops or malts, just some kind of...taste. Finish is a little hoppy, again, more than Canadian or its nemesis Blue. This beer still moves well in the small towns and amongst old men’s slo-pitch leagues. Just not "cool" enough for an ad campaign anymore, I guess. They’ll bring it back at some point.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
NOt bad, but not really exceptional though. It was like a strong lager without the higher levels of alcohol. Apparently used to be an independent brewery. And it seems to be from Scottish roots.
