1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Rated while drinking: Pours the color of yellow corn with an unattractive diminishing white head. Actually has a teensy bit of hops in the aroma. Weird bottle smell though. Tastes pretty mainstream, but surprisingly nothing too "off". Probably because there’s actually hops present in the sea of bad malt and adjuncts. Nothing going on in the palate; carbonated water feel. But drinkable. Had no idea what this was, but picked up a 12 pack at Wegmans for 6 dollars. It’s pretty refreshing to watch a ball game and tip these back. Don’t think I’d be a repeat buyer though.

A beer of my youth. I remember It tasted ok when O’keefe made it. Ever Since Molson bought them out this beer just tastes bad.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
As I walked up to the "Inn" it looked abandoned, and down a couple of broken down hallways I found an old man selling beer and this is what he had, so I purchased some and headed back to the lake. The surprise? It is actually not bad. Well made with a pleasing lager sweetness and no creamed corn flavor so typical of the style.

Nice malt and hop flavor with clean finish, much better than Canadian, can only seem to find in Canada though.

O'Keefe's old lager. Fruity and carbonic with little in the way of mouthfeel or hops.

Bad in the bottle, bad in the can. OV has the nickname in Canada of ’Old Vag*na’. That being said, OV is EXCELLENT on tap!!! :) Be sure to try this at the pub on tap if it’s available. It’s entirely different on tap.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2007 Not an exceptional standout beer, but when you consider that THIS was a big brand about 20 years ago, it makes you think. More character than Canadian...not really hops or malts, just some kind of...taste. Finish is a little hoppy, again, more than Canadian or its nemesis Blue. This beer still moves well in the small towns and amongst old men’s slo-pitch leagues. Just not "cool" enough for an ad campaign anymore, I guess. They’ll bring it back at some point.

I thought this was ’dirty old man’ beer until I tried it; I must say, after all the negative stuff I heard about it, I was pleasantly surprised!
