COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional ale dating back to 1908, with a spicy, robust taste which is created by a careful balance between the heavier malt character and the use of bitter Nugget and aromatic Kent hops. Stock Ale, a crafted, distinctive full flavoured beer from the Brewmasters of Molson.

Pours a pale gold with a very small head. Aroma is mild with grain and corn. Taste is spicier than most Molson beers and is also quite sweet. Finishes a little bitter. Better than Molson Canadian to be sure, this is quite possibly the best large-scale production beer made by the company.

After reading some of the ratings, was eager to try this less common macrobrew, supposedly, with real beer flavour. Admittedly, it does have more colour and a slightly fuller aroma than other Molson products, but the body is largely the same, right down to the slightly acidic taste in the body which lingers unpleasantly. Some malts where evident, unlike other Molson products, but I suspect that cheaper grains (rice or corn) are in there as well.

This was my dad's beer. And I've had friends call it "an old man's beer". But you know something? It's got a nice bite that is hard to find from a macrobrewery. It's full in the mouth, malty, slightly sweet followed by a mild bitterness. Every time my dad's birthday rolls around, I pick up a case and have a few in his memory. Not an "old man's beer", but "MY old man's beer".

The best beer i have ever had...i cannot find anything that tastes similar though, and since this is not readily found at every beerstore, as well as bar or pub, i need to find a substitute, suggestions???

This is a sleeper Canadian brew. Surprised that Molson still carries it. If you want to know what beer tasted like for your father or grandfather, give it a try. Watch out of headaches and anal burning during bowel movements, if you binge on the Stock.
