Pretty smooth for the strength. Buttery malt with very little hops or other spice. Eminently drinkable.

Has a rich golden color. Smell is dominated by alcohol. Taste is alcohol, green apples, not very good. Overall a pretty lousy beer.

12 oz bottle. Not as bad as I had feared. A little sweet, but lacking the metallic flavor of the souped up American big brewery offerings. The flavor is much of the same grainy, corn fed and slightly toasted malts.

Described as a ’Super Premium Beer,’ after awhile the seasoned drinker will recognize that anything with more than one X in the name is trouble and intended as such. Bearing this in mind, I still found no problems with an oil can for $2. It pours out pale gold and very fizzy and heady, though the latter will not last too long. The aroma is, let’s say, industrial. It is consistent with Montreal’s alleys. Malt, corn and other vegetation is present in flavor, though it doesn’t taste its strength. Not too heavy, but too sweet and syrupy even for a malt liquor. Beats King Cobra, but it’s no Private Stock.

355ml can pours a pale straw color with a small white head and no lacing. Aroma is grains and hops with alcohol. Taste is malty sweet with alcohol and an undesirable hop bitterness. On par for the style.

Nate (3358) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Bottle courtesy of Frank. Mild alcohol and corn sweetness with a bit of hop beaniness. Weak nose. Pale dull golden clear with no head. Medium watery body with high carbonation. Starts sweet with alcohol, corn, and some tannic astringency. Bitter hop finish with alcohol sweetness. Not very good.

Nice amber/gold color; Light to medium body; Aroma of malt, cereal, & subtle floral; Flavor of slight sweet malt, grain, and some hops; Some alcohol at the finish; Overall, I was expecting the worst - but not terrible.

Okay, the night of Canadian beers continues with Molson Explicit XXX - The beer is explicit, explicitly terrible! Sweet malts that don’t belong and some questionable hop presence. Even the alcohol comes through pretty big on a modest 7.3% I guess you could say a 6’er would mash you pretty well, but that is about the only positive I can come up with.
