Pours a muddy pale brown-red with a medium creamy yellow-ish head. It quickly becomes a thin film. Aroma has alcohol, toffee, plums, raisins. Medium carbonation. Sweet, plum-like, malty and a little fruityness. Some wood, raisins and viniousness. Not the most complex Quad ever. So this is certainly a capable beer, just not in the league of its styles best examples. Rastacouere (5565), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2007 Murky brown pour covered by a fading off-white head. Toasty, malty ale with authentic munich malt bill. A very malty ale whose quad classification makes sense. Not too fruity, but chocolate emanations are constant, so are nutty ones. The gently warming alcohol wears a coat of Cuban rum. Perhaps a bit simple in maltiness, but the yeast is confident and the palate is excellently thick and softly foamy enough to be more than credible. Bov (5514), Bienne, Switzerland
