IslandHaole (1028), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan Nov 8, 2006 Just a hint of yellow in this otherwise clear sake. Scent of Anise with strong alcohol
Not much to say about this one. Doesn’t seem like a Junmai. Lacks the body and depth I’d expect from Momokawa. Rather bland and basic.
BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 15, 2006 300mL Bottle: Pours a clear color with thick legs. The nose is sweet and perfumey with some light citrus rind and grassy fennel. The flavor is a bit dry and flavorless with light alcohol notes. The finish is lightly creamy and starchy. A bit neutral and thin, decent nose, but no character, especially for a namachozo. Alcohol is fairly hidden compared to some of the cheaper sakes too, which must be the decent level of rice polish. Probably lost a bit of character in the filtering process maybe? Thanks Dan!
