Nov 15, 2007 Murai Family chilled bottle from Party Source. Poured clear color with sticky legs. Moderate melons and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a dry texture. Medium pineapple and licorice flavor with a medium sweet warming finish of moderate duration. My expectations were met with a smooth complex dry sake.

Sep 3, 2007 Labeled Murai Family Tokubetsu Honjozo brewed by Momokawa and imported by Sakeone from whom I ordered the bottle and labeling is "Rice: Miyamanishiki from Aomori Prefecture; milled to 60% of original grain. SMV: +2" exactly as commercial description says! Nose of rice with a faint licorice note and some transparent with a faint golden tinge; flavor extremely smooth (better be for $29 a bottle) with a slight fruity note, alcohol well covered. One of the best sakes I’ve tried!
