Old Fields Altbier, brewed in the Dusseldorf style, combines rich malt flavor and firm hop bitterness. Its name is an homage to Tallahassee’s Native American heritage and our fair city’s name being derived from an Indian word meaning "old fields".

Decent for the style. Copper colored. Caramel , nutty, tasted a little like homebrew. Not bad.

Draft at the brew pub. Pours clear copper with a bubbly beige head. Tastes like toasted malt, burnt toast, light raisin, dry straw, and light caramel. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet caramel, toasted malt, nutty, and some dried fruit.

Tap at brewpub. Pours clear copper/brown with creamy off-white head. Aroma is toasted malts, mixed nuts, light cereal malts, faint caramel, and some fig. Flavor is toasted malts, light bitterness, a touch of dark fruit, and very faint sweetness. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.

1/17/14. A German style alt brewed in honor of the Native Americans? Okay. We’ll go with that. Anyway, on tap at the brewpub. Light amber brown pour with a small khaki head. Muted aroma, earthy, malty, biscuit, mild caramel and cocoa, some toast and fruitiness. Mild flavor, biscuit, crackers, toast, mild caramel and earthiness. Fine.

On tap at brewpub. Copper - brown pour with thin light tan head. Aroma is roasty, floral. Tastes are brown sugar, herbal, toffee, nutty. Nice enough, though not my thing.

Pours a clear copper on tap with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is faint, earthy floral hops and a bit of dusty grain. Taste is much better, toffee and toasted nuts, bitter hop back and a nice creamy mouthful. Solid stuff.

Tap at brewpub. Clear amber brown with cream colored head. Light floral and grain aroma with light yeast. Toasted grain lightly hopped with a crisp finish. Very drinkable and would be good with food. #pizzabeer

Medium-dark, clear brown, thin off white head. Hoppy, toasty aroma. This is the stuff - mouthy, but still sessionable. Roast, cocoa, biscuity. Good carbo, toasty aftertaste. Quite good, nicely done.

On tap at brewpub. Dark copper pour, light off-white head that leaves a nice film of lace. Aroma has some earthy notes with a hint of black earth. Flavor has some toffee, chocolate, cola and nuts. Thick mouthfeel
