Pours a clear copper on tap with thin cream colored cap, good lace. Aroma of slight bready biscuit malt and caramel. Taste follows, nice toasted grain and that traditional Irish red flavor. Drinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at momo’s. Amber brown pour with slight offwhite ring. Aroma is muted toasty and caramel. Tastes are brown sugar (my beer nemesis), earthy malt, grain, cocoa and tea (?). Not my favorite style - so all relative.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium sweet, malty, slightly tannic and chalky aroma. Hazy, darkish brown with a thin creamy head. An initial cereal and tangy hp punch, followed by a toasty presence with a little tannic twant. Medium to slightly heavy mouthfeel. Roasty finish. Enjoyable, and true to style. Swigged a pint with PorterPounder and ZachTeaPounder while watching the Oregon/Wisconsin Rose Bowl.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Momo’s. Dark copper pour, light off-white head, very light lacing. Aroma has a bit of an earthy, funky bent to it with some ripening vegetable notes. Flavor has some toffee notes, a bit of sweet caramel and some ripening vegetable funkiness in the back end. NIce textured mouthfeel.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
First to rate! 1/2/11. On at at Momo’s. Clear amber pour, plenty of brown, under a small khaki head that fades and barely laces. Somewhat light, plain aroma of sweet caramels, toasted bread, and just a hint of roasted malt. A bit more flavorful with more sweet caramels, toasted bread, a bit of milk chocolate, a touch of roasted grains, and just a hint of tartness. Not bad.
