This American-styled IPA – exploding with citrusy hop flavor and aroma – is fresh, bright and packed with Vitamin D-licious. Your own pint of sunshine. You can even look directly at it.

A classic American style IPA with noticeable hop bitterness and light floral and citrus aromas.

Draft at the brew pub. Pours almost clear amber copper with a fizzy white head. Tastes like musky citrus, resin, grapefruit hops. Dry feel. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like grapefruit, pine, and house resin.

Tap at brewpub. Pours a clear, bright golden amber with creamy off-white head. Aroma is bready and cereal malts, grassy hops, orange peel, and faint dank; slightly vegetal. Flavor is grassy and citrus hops forward with a dry malt base and faint citrus sweetness. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours a clear amber color on tap with fluffy off-white head that.dissipates to leave good lacing. Aroma is slightly citrus and floral hops, but the ice cold glass doesn’t really allow the smell to open up. Taste follows with hints of caramel and pale malts. Smooth and easy to drink, but doesn’t really do much for me.

On tap. Hazy golden color, minimal lacing. Nothing to prudent in the aroma, but slightly citrus and floral. Citrus notes in the taste with medium bitter finish. Well rounded IPA.

Drinkable IPA, upfront hoppiness, bitter finish. Overall underwhelming beer, but its seems to be made to be easily drinkable. Definitely improved as the beer warmed up.

On tap at Momo’s. Orange-gold pour with a frothy white head and lots of stick. Light citrus hop aroma. Tastes are citrus, pine, bread, and caramel. Nice palate - medium to thin with a spike of carbonation. Leaves a bready dry finish. Good.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Momo’s. Murky dark orange pour, sticky off-white head that leaves plenty of rings of lace in the glass. Aroma is somewhat neutral, pick up slight hints of spruce and floral, but not pronounced. Good solid, rib-sticking bitter grapefruit flavor. Slight syrupy back end, but the bitterness is the headliner. Thick sticky mouthfeel. Will be a standby when nothing new is on tap and if they leave it on tap on a regular basis.

10/17/11. On tap at Momo’s. I’m the third RBian to have this, but the second to rate it since PorterPounder was here earlier but lives in the Stone Age without a smart phone. As for Aurelius, he’s just mad that I passed him in ratings and that he still hasn’t met someone as cool as I am! Slightly hazy dark orange pour, almost amber, with a small tan head that cuts in half but laces plentifully. Surprisingly faint aroma that touches on tart citrus, pine, caramel, and toasted bread. The flavor is similarly lacking in hop presence. The flavor is dry, and a touch bitter, with caramel, bread, and lingering earthy hop character. There’s a touch of pine and zesty lemon peel, but not much else. Like Aurelius said, it seems to be a crowd pleaser IPA, not a beer nerd IPA. It’s good, but considering they tapped it yesterday (ie: it’s super fresh), I was definitely expecting more of a hop kick.

I am the *FIRST* non-Momo’s employee to sample this beer. Take that, drowland and porterpounder - who have been hounding me about my hermit-like consumption patterns and non- (some would say ’anti-’) social beer hunting protocols. Let me say first that the brewmaster is the dude that has sold me every iota of yeast, hops and malt that I’ve ever bought for homebrew. He’s making some very good crowd-pleasing brews at Momo’s. The proximity of the Homebrew Den and Momo’s made for an inevitable partnership - huzzah, Tallahassee has a brewpub again after 5-6 years. The beer was half-foggy, apricot gold with an off-white, one finger dense head. Slightly piney, slightly sulphury. Didn’t ask John about ABV, IBU or what hops that he used. West coast hops obviously, but perhaps some Kent in there as well - will check. Nicely balanced, medium heavy bittering. Mostly dry, a bit woody, not strongly fruity. Finishes out with a woody bitternesss. This is not going to be a Stone competitor, but it’s a solid IPA.
