This brown porter is a throwback to a classic beer style of England. It’s luscious malt profile is balanced just right with English-styled hops and perfectly toasted malts for a royal treat.

This is a really nice English porter. Not highly hopped. Subtle roasted character. Nice malt sweetness..

Sparse notes here while waiting on a pizza and being distracted by soccer on the tv... lighter brown poor than most browns, medium frothy white, muted brown sugar, bread aroma, buttery, cocoa, nuts and grain, 6.6

Foggy root beer brown with a dense light tan head.  Very nice roast aroma which reminded me of toasted almonds or parched soy nuts with a little dark chocolate.  Lightly buttered, nutty light sweetness, coffee.  Light body, lingering coffee and nuts, but generally a crisp finish. Very enjoyable.

4/26/12. On tap at the brewery. Dark brown pour with a small khaki head that fades and laces in small sheets. Mild bready aroma with some chocolate, butter, toast, and crackers. Mild chocolate and more toast and cracker with a lingering buttery graininess.

Tallahassee, FL - on tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour, nice thick khaki colored head, nice rings of lacing. Aroma has some marshmallow accents, a hint of bittersweet choocolate, some sweet marzipan. Flavor is rich, some chocolate notes, some melted marshmallows, a touch of licorice and back end of toffee. Silky mouthfeel. Overall, a very poundable porter.
