3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Jet black and schwarzbier-like
Weak aroma of burned malt. The flavour is upfront choco- and burned malt. Clean, crisp dry and quite bitter. Unusual but nice schwartzbier!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 28, 2008 Re-rated. Previous rating total was 3.0. Previously I had only tasted the "original" version/recipe. Since then (and for some time now) Bryghuset Møn have hired a new brewer, and the beer has changed for the better.
Bottle. Pours a very dark/black colour with big not lasting head. Aroma is roasty, smokey, malty. Taste is the same with liquorice, smoke and a slight bitterness. Good schwarzbier.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark unclear beer with medium head. Faded quite quickly.
Aroma was low, a bit of hops and some roasted malts. High levels of diacetyl.
Very dry finnish, not from roasted malts, but from very aggresive fermentation. Definately needed more body and more character.
Yet another beer from møn that was missing the lager style malt character. Yeast could very well be a low temp fermented ale yeast - the malt wasn’t clear, and esters were a bit to high.
Finnishes to dry.
