330ml bottle from Provenance Wines, shared with Ashton McCobb. Cheers Ash! Pours dark brown with a nice tan head. Aromas are quite light, but liquorice first, then earthy and dark chocolate comes through as it warms up. Taste brings some coffee, more chocolate. Nice creamy texture. Decent.

33cl bottle from Provenance Wines. Appearance - opaque black/brown with a lovely fawn head. Nose - earthy, nutty and maybe some liquorice. Taste - bitter chocolate and coffee grits with a creamy backbone. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a relatively fresh finish. Overall - a good Porter.

Bottle from Provenance Wines. Black body with a thin beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is exactly like a Galaxy Caramel, with a hint of coffee too. The coffee notes become more dominant on the taste, with the chocolate and caramel flavours playing supporting roles. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Gentle carbonation fizz. A straightforward, flavoursome, easy drinking Porter.

Bottle from Dram Shop, Sheffield. Nearly black. Halo of tan head. Wet leather. Burnt plastic. Mostly fire damaged outerwear materials, then? Weird, but not entirely unpleasant. Taste is fruity dry. Dark chocolate bitterness. Medium body. Dry, ashy, bitter finish.

Bottle picked up Tuesday 15th October 2013 from ’Jacks’, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at home Sunday 3rd November 2013 Pours dark brown with a little ruby glinting through. I am cooking curry so being exact on the aroma is actually quite tricky, however there is a little milkiness, some maltiness and perhaps chocolate not a lot else though. In the mouth a little weak coffee, roasty with a late roastiness that lingers a little, a bit of milk chocolate its fine. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
