COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A surprisingly balanced double IPA. A pirate without the use of his eyes is a bitter man indeed. And this Blind Pirate’s bitterness is only matched by his boldness. He doesn’t care if you enjoy the citrusy, spicy combination of hops on your tongue, the faint herbal notes in your nose, or the exquisite balance of caramel malts looting your senses. The Blind Pirate is a bold, bitter ale not for the weak in spirit. Just don’t ask him if you can borrow his sight glass. He gets offended.

22 oz. bottle. Dark copper pour, with a big, beige head. Very malty nose of caramel and syrup, with a little wet grass and honeysuckle. Very bitter flavor, with a little malt backbone. Medium to heavy body, a little chalky, and sticky. Overall, this is a mediocre IIPA. The hop profile seems a little flat, the malts are a little too dominant.

Bottle. Pours lightly hazy dark amber with a large, frothy off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, and resin hops with biscuit malt, pear, peach, and apple esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness with supporting crisp malt, lightly sweet, fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium to full body and medium carbonation.

Poured an amber gold color from the bottle with some floral hop notes, light citrus, some pine and a touch of biscuit. Flavors were the same light and refreshing all the hops were balanced and gave a nice zippy hop flavor throughout.

Pours clear amber with a huge reddish white head. Aroma is caramel malts and citrus hop punch. Taste follows suit with less bitterness than I was expecting from a DIPA. This is a decent local craft offering, but won’t turn any heads.

Burnt peaches, burnt maraschino cherries, fruit cup goop, pee and pine and cedar. Full body, excessively sweet, medium-high bitterness, low carbonation, flabby body. Sugar bomb with crude hop character. Dark ruby tones. From draft.
