COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A surprisingly balanced double IPA. A pirate without the use of his eyes is a bitter man indeed. And this Blind Pirateís bitterness is only matched by his boldness. He doesnít care if you enjoy the citrusy, spicy combination of hops on your tongue, the faint herbal notes in your nose, or the exquisite balance of caramel malts looting your senses. The Blind Pirate is a bold, bitter ale not for the weak in spirit. Just donít ask him if you can borrow his sight glass. He gets offended.

Draft pour at the tasting room. 6 oz. Nice golden amber with a thick head. Pine, citrus, grass, hay and cereal aroma. The taste was pine and resin with some citrus and biscuit. Nice finish with some bitterness and herbs. Well balanced. Good from this new brewery.

-Aroma: Strong bitter grapefruit. -Appearance: Dark iced tea with thin off white head. -Taste: Slow burning whiskey like alcohol presence & strong grapefruit bitterness with a slightly lemony after bite. -Palate: Medium - Full bodied with lingering bitterness. -Overall: Good Imperial IPA that I would compare or describe as a Cold Jim Beam with hops.

Hazy dark amber pour with a frothy white head. Aroma was of muted citrus hops and lots of caramel. Flavors were slightly sweet, light citrus, dark fruits and a bitter hoppy finish. Plus mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. This almost drinks like a "light Barleywine" as this one has some age on it. Rather nice.

Bottle from GT liquors in Grovetown. Pours orangey copper with an off-orange head. Light lace. Aroma has pine and orange zest and some spice. Later in the glass some of the maltiness shows through. Taste is led by chewy sprucy pine needles, and then garlicky spices, some onion, light grapefruit and some caramel appear. Medium bodied with light alcohol presence, and rough. Finishes garlicky tangy with a touch of sweetness. Shrug? The garlic overwhelms after a while, but even the pine was too much. 12.9

Pretty good price, around 9 bucks, for a 6 pack. Dark muddy copper pour with a thin white head. Nice sweet hop aroma, mostly citrus but some pine as well. Body is resinous, thick and oily with hops and sweet malts. Grapefruit, orange and earthy, woodsy malts. Nice body, lingering orange citrus. This one certainly covers all the bases for a DIPA, itís a textbook representation of the style if you ask me. Could be a great base for some type of oak cask, hint hint.

22oz bomber from TBS, thanks Matt. Poured a muddy light orange/brown body with an average sized frothy beige head. Aroma is big time caramel, toffee, dry bread. Body is nice and big, fuller mouthfeel, average carbonation and a drier finish. Flavor is basically the same as the aroma, plus some rotting citrus and a touch of vanilla. Not bad.

16 ounce pint - Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: BP displays an amber-brown body, a bit hazy, and layered with an inch-high head of off-white foam with good staying power.

Smell: Resinous, citrusly citric of the edgy hops atop the toasted grains and dry caramel with a flicker of the alcohol presence held within.

Taste: Toasted pale-malted grains with a little bit of lightly nutty caramel. Floral, piney and resolutely citrusy, with grapefruit and even lemon-lime. Accumulating medium-high bitter holds onto those tastebuds through the citric, grainy, lightly boozy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. A little chewiness present.

Overall: It works; an above-average IIPA.
