3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap, LV Bar and Grill in Midland, GA. Pours a dark, semi translucent brown. Aroma is not very pronounced, hints of roasted malts. Taste is much better, roasted caramel malts, hints of scotch by way of a peat / smoke presence. Really good. Palate is medium body, medium carbonation. Overall, the taste outperforms my expectations based off the aroma. I’ve had 3 variations of this beer, and they have all been enjoyable. Probably Monday Nights best beer.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured into a thistle glass to keep it legit.
Smokey. Malty on the aroma. A little light.
Looks a little thin but redish brown. Nice.
Taste is smooth. Malty. Smokey. Peaty maybe. Really solid.
Palate is medium smooth. No harsh notes.
A really solid beer is most ways. Great flavor notes and very smooth on the palate.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Five Points Bottle (Westside). Thick malty nose, the roast is good and sweetness comes through. Dark reddish brown color, solid light tan head, good lace. Decent roast malt initial / cookies and a little smoke in mid palate / finishes with some balance but mostly the malt. Medium body. Good. A bit one dimensional. Tasty but doesn’t really have the character of a real Scotch ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear copper brown from the bottle with minimal tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma is boozy wood and a hint of smoke. Taste follows, good balance with the sweetness coming on the back end. Nice for the style but nothing mind blowing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared at the Foothills Sexual Chocolate pre-release party. Pours a nice looking dark chocolate. Nice peatiness with a light caramel malt body. Classic representation of the scotch ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the tasting room in Atlanta. 6oz pour. Awesome deep brown pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of malts, licorice, scotch, oak, smoke, and sweet cane. The taste was well balanced malts, booze, oak, mild hops, herbs, licorice and sugar. Medium to full body, heavy scotch finish. Very good scotch ale. Cant wait to have another.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great beer, pours dark brown with only a bit of light coming from the edges with a large khaki colored head. Smells sweet, malts and caramel. Taste a bit smoky with a lot of malt character but not overwhelming. I really like this beer

MNB beers definitely change in the bottle to me. They seem to become bolder. This is more smokey than its draught counterpart. A good beer.

Pour is dark umber with a modest white head.
Aromas of chocolate, peaty smoke, and caramel.
Taste is rich malty and smokey with a flash of peat in the finish, not super layered but rich overall.
Palate is medium-full with light carbonation and a slight alcohol burn.
Overall a solid brew, not spectacular but showing great promise.
