Nice dark pour with a cream colored head. Really good. Damn good! Light smoke, peat, toffee, raisins, creamy coffee, toasted bread. Really good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ B&D Burgers / Savannah GA --- Clear, very dark ruby brown with a misty head cover, lots of bits and pieces of lace. Taste is roasted malt that stays pure, adding semi-sweet toffee midway through. This nearly turns it sweet, but bitters keep the finish in check. Actually quite good,a solid wee heavy.k

Way to sweet no smokiness. Sweet on tongue almost sick flavor. Not much hop thin head. Light aroma. Flavor is candied sugars.

Dark brown/red with a thin filmy khaki colored head. Aroma is mainly smoke, caramel malts, roasted barley and dry hops. Likewise for the flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark ruby-brown with a dirty taupe-khaki colored head. Smoky asparagus, ripe fruit, and some caramel on the nose. Full-bodied, gets a bit crisp, and somewhat drying at the finish. Complexity is this scotch ale’s key distinction. Ripe fruit sweetness seems to prevail. Oddly enough, the smokiness doesn’t emerge until late. Vegetable bitterness at the finish. A note or two of chocolate underneath it all.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
bottle from springslicker. had high hopes for this one as the style is becoming a favorite. I can see why many would enjoy but it just didn’t quite all pull together for my tastes.. copper brown pout Aroma is not much - some alcohol, wood, caramel. Taste has much stuff but again it doesn’t all pull together I get smoke, peat, alcohol, malt. too cloying sweet with a funky alcohol after taste. Rahr Iron thistle please

Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Roasty, grainy, husky aromas. Peat, malty caramel flavors. Meh, alright.

Ridiculousness in a glass. So good. Only thing I could possibly say is I would love to chew on this brew but I can only drink it. Seek this out!

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap, LV Bar and Grill in Midland, GA. Pours a dark, semi translucent brown. Aroma is not very pronounced, hints of roasted malts. Taste is much better, roasted caramel malts, hints of scotch by way of a peat / smoke presence. Really good. Palate is medium body, medium carbonation. Overall, the taste outperforms my expectations based off the aroma. I’ve had 3 variations of this beer, and they have all been enjoyable. Probably Monday Nights best beer.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured into a thistle glass to keep it legit.
Smokey. Malty on the aroma. A little light.
Looks a little thin but redish brown. Nice.
Taste is smooth. Malty. Smokey. Peaty maybe. Really solid.
Palate is medium smooth. No harsh notes.
A really solid beer is most ways. Great flavor notes and very smooth on the palate.
