Draft at the tasting room in Atlanta. 6oz pour. Awesome deep brown pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of malts, licorice, scotch, oak, smoke, and sweet cane. The taste was well balanced malts, booze, oak, mild hops, herbs, licorice and sugar. Medium to full body, heavy scotch finish. Very good scotch ale. Cant wait to have another.

Deep, clear ruby black-brown. Clingy almond head. Hoppy, sweet and tannic malty aroma. Very tasty, dark syrup, assertive hops, medium sweetness for style, some roast. Chewy. Stiff bitterness in the finish, along with a light astringency. Overall very good. Taco Mac, John’s Creek.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at a restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia. The pour is dark, opaque brown with a modest tan head that fades down and leaves lacing. Enticing sweet malt, peat moss, and light smoky aroma. Little in the way of hops. The body is medium but soft and delicate. Sweet malt taste with no booze and a light dry finish. I would like to get this one in my area.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. This beer has a big malt and grain aroma. The color is pure dark brown with a medium sized off-white head.
The flavor is very rich and smooth. I liked this beer quite a bit and thought it was more than just a scottish ale.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear rich dark ruby (when held to light). World Class head volume, lacing and retention.
Smells like a scotch ale should, but is a bit on the light side. Dark fruit (plum, date, raisin), molasses, light roast and a hint of smoke.
Medium bodied with a texture that has creamy aspects. Above normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish.
The flavor profile is intense, complex, well balanced and is borderline outstanding. It begins with a sweet burst of molasses and dark fruit that quickly yields to a roast bitterness. Under the bitterness, caramel notes emerge in the middle. Subtle smoke characteristics emerge right before the finish, gain in intensity and come to the forefront as the finish fades over a subsiding caramel and molasses sweetness. In the lingering finish, prune notes are evident as well as a slight alcohol burn, subtle dryness and bitter pucker.
