A crisp, drinkable IPA. The earthy deliciousness of Cascade and Simcoe hops, combined with upfront malt flavor, and balanced with a pirateís sensibilities. Our Eye Patch Ale is a uniquely drinkable take on the American IPA Ė sweet caramel, citrusy flowers and swashbuckling adventure abound with every pint.

Brewed at Thomas Creek before the brewery opened.

1/30/14. 12oz bottle from Beachís in Fort Walton Beach (I think... Lots of random ticks in my fridge). Hazy orange pour with a small khaki head. Earthy hop aroma, minerally, doughy malts. Mild flavor, again earthy and minerally, doughy. Meh.

Bottle: Cloudy amber with a creamy white head. Aroma has a little of that bready/spray paint thing.... Lively carbonation and tingle...orange and caramel malt taste. Definitely a lot of metal and odd notes in here..... Aaaaar,...perhaps it be gold Iím tastiní.......not very good, Iím afraid...worse than my pirate talk.

Bottle (courtesy of Cybercat). Metallic orange malt and grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with giant white head. Sweet but strong tinny orange malt and orange peel flavor. Medium body. Pretty rough.

12oz bottle from Ed5388, thanks slappy. Poured an alright looking chill hazed orangey-amber with a smaller mostly white foamy head. Aroma is pretty nice, fruity, pineapple, passion fruit, light citrus, vanilla and toast. Medium to fuller mouthfeel with softer carbonation and a quicker fading aftertaste. Flavor isnít as good as the aroma, notes of grassy hops, old tropical fruits, citrus rinds. Okay overall.

No BOD. Pours a cloudy orange amber. Outstanding head volume, lacing and retention. Very nice nose of tropical (mango, pineapple) hops, a hint of pine, biscuit malt and a rye like spicy undertone. Heavy light body with a weak smoothness. Almost normal carbonation with a very slight effervescence in the finish. The flavor profile is below average. It is a quite intense off flavored grapefruit rind with no trace of balancing malt. The middle is a continuation of the poor flavor as is the finish. Moderate bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2015 12oz bottle, purchased from Habersham in Savannah on 2/23/15. Completely hazy amber color. Bigger off-white kind of airy head. Leaves good reaches of lace. Lots of pale particles in the body. First sip impression: brett infection. Tastes bright, citrusy, tart and spicy, in a brett way. Very dry taste, chalky finish. Bigger bitter taste, sort of astringent. Light to moderate sweet. Moderate tart. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft lighter carbonation. Very lightly slick texture, finishes dry. Besides some mild caramel malt and a touch of grapefruit/floral/spicy hop, I canít really get anything besides the brett (not in a good way). Very dusty-tasting too, some metallic; definitely does not taste fresh. Pretty harsh; hard to drink. Unfortunate, as I really enjoyed the Blind Pirate and had high hopes for this IPA. This potentially could been avoided if the brewery dated their bottles. I got as far as I could, then dumped the rest down the drain.

Tap@TJs Sandwiches, CNN centre, Atlanta. Amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is nicely hopped and the flavour is bitter with well hopped dryness. Overall a nice well hopped IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Steve out of his Christmas present. Thanks! Orange pour, some head. Sweet fruity aroma with some pine and some malty sweetness. Taste has sweet fruits, tangy pine and a decent caramel backbone. A bit lighter than expected. Solid and fairly tasty offering. 13.9
