A bright, spicy Belgian-style wit. An effervescent, easy-drinking wheat beer, brewed with Belgian yeast, German hops, and a whisper of ginger from the Far East. This mustachio’d Belgian-style wit believes that good beer defies borders. The name Fu Manbrew was crowdsourced with some help from our friends at Scoutmob. They call the mustache a “Flavor Savor” for a reason.

Pours a hazy yellow from the bottle with thin white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of big Belgian wheat esters, nice spice notes. Taste follows, ginger is faint, which is nice to me. Interesting take on the style, light and refreshing.

Bottle: Hazy, medium yellow with a creamy, off-white head. Coriander, ginger, wheat scent. Taste is orange/lemon, wheat malt and ginger. Very citrusy....and the ginger adds a really pleasant change of pace from the norm....tasty.

Bottle at Six Pence, Savannah. No head. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), with notes of ginger and orange peel. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, nearly flat carbonation. Undercarbonated and smells mostly of ginger. Rather bland in the mouth. Could only drink a few ounces before boredom set it.

Good quality wit with the classic profile well developed. Wheat, coriander and sweaty yeast on a solid yet pleasantly refreshing body.

Light opaque dark yellow, white small lacing foam head. Light citrus aroma and taste, does only have small resemblance with WITBIER. Some spice tones, ginger. (Atlanta 201505)

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle from jbruner poured into a weizen glass. Hazy light orange with small white head which dissipates pretty fast. Aroma is spicy coriander, light body, well carbonated, and little lacing. Taste is coriander and some orange. Reminiscent of Napa Smith Wheat Beer.

Slightly cloudy golden pour. Normal head volume, poor lacing and retention. Nice classic Belgian Wit nose of light citrus (lemon, orange), rich coriander notes, but light on banana notes until it warms. Also present is a spicy ginger undertone. Almost medium bodied with a texture approaching creamy. Normal carbonation with a touch of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish. The flavor profile is outstanding. It is intense (ginger forward), complex and reasonably balanced. It begins with a tart burst that is mostly lemon. The lemon slowly yields to orange and banana notes. In the middle, ginger comes forward with a coriander and clove background. The finish is a slow fade of these flavors with phenolic clove becoming more noticeable.
