"Premium Beer"
The Indian Mongoose has all the courage and cunning to devour even its most deadly enemies. Those in the know choose Mongoose, premium beer at its best. A 5.0% abv lager brewed with Hallertau and Hersbrucker hops. Its exceptional smoothness and soft carbonation make it the perfect match for Indian food.
Launched in June 2010 in collaboration with Indian restaurant supplier Gandhi Wine Suppliers Ltd. Wells had lost the contract to brew Cobra lager in 2009. Wells & Young own the recipe to Cobra, and haven’t changed it for Mongoose.

Smooth tasting very similar to Cobra and in a similar shaped bottle, are they the same? Other than that its drinkable and inoffensive but ultimately forgetable

A bottle from Tesco. Average to indifferent lager. Probably bearable with a hot curry.

From the tap. Had 3 pints with my curry last night. Smells slightly hoppy, tastes very refreshing if a little uninspiring. Perfect to have with a curry but wouldn’t drink on its own. The bottle i had of this (330ml or similar) tasted pretty poor in comparison!

670ml lager. Pours deep gold with a medium head. Aroma is sweet, grass and corn. Taste has sweet straw malt to start and a grassy finish.

0,67 l bottle shared with McTapps. Simple lager with some herbs in aroma/and taste. Nothing special - a bit too much carbo.

Mongoose 670ml bottle recommended at an Indian restaurant in London, clear yellow pour creamy white head, smells like classic pilsner, taste is smooth and refreshing. Not bad at all

I enjoyed a bottle of this Indian beer brewed in the UK last night. Refreshing taste which was quite distinctive. Will buy again.

670ml bottle from a friend. Pale golden yellow colour, good head. Mild cereal grain aroma. Sour cereal corn flavour. Sharp with bitter aftertaste. Not a great lager.

Clear golden color, small white head. Light cardboardish aroma. Light to medium bodied. Cardboardish maltyness, low biterness although not too bad. Can go with food. As good as you can guess from the beer marketed as "original Indian recipe".
