Over the top banana scent. Pours a golden yellow with a thin white head. Very sweet banada taste. Almost sugary. More of a drink taste than beer.Smooth drinking that finishes with more sweetness. Try this if you want something differant.

Pale gold with some carbonation. Dominant banana aroma, sweet and reminiscent of some long-forgotten childhood sweet. The taste is the same. Is there anything good about this bizzarre substance? Yes! It is made with Fair Trade bananas. Please support Fair Trade products where they are available.

A light yellow beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is a artificial banana aroma, the flavor is also of artificial bananas and is quite sweet.

Bottle. Golden colour with a small white head. Artificial banana aroma and a very sweet artificial banana taste. Medium body with a very sweet finish.

Slightly murky yellow-orange with minimal head that disappeared damn fast. The bottle is bursting with banana paddle-pop aroma, with some tripel-like bugglegum in alliance. Of course if you were expecting something other than banana in the aroma you wouldn’t be drinking this beer. Unfortunately it’s the sugary sweetness which seems to dominate in the mouth, because with a better balance I think this could actually work as a fruit beer. It has a decent body, and it’s reasonably lasting, but that isn’t necessarily a good thing!

Bottle: Sweet lolly banana dominates aroma. Orange with no head. Sickly sweet lolly banana flavour with a slightly tart finish. Boring and sweet.

Bottle. Bright orange, transluscent, slightly less than average head. Good freaking lord!! Just put banana Runts (you remember, that candy from middle school?) in a blender with some water, mix in a little yeast so it ferments, and you’ve got the cheapest homebrew in the world. And it will taste just like this beer. Excessive sugar-sweetness, about as well-balanced as a guy with his left leg and right arm amputated and holding a 50-pound dumbell. Anyway...this beer is proof of what a nice freaking guy I am. I was taking a long time to decide what to drink at the bar down the street, so my man Til suggested this. Not having drank it before, I gave Mongozo Banana a try. Under any other circumstances this would have been a drainpour, but Til is freaking awesome and I think I’ve mentined him in another rating. He invited me to a gokon this weekend, in fact (a Japanese guy/girl party specifically for meeting the opposite sex). Plus he’s the only Nepalese person I’ve ever known, so I drank the whole damn thing in front of him as to avoid implying that I didn’t like his recommended beer before washing my mouth out with Sam Smith’s Taddy Porter.

28 Mar 2005 - An aroma with bananas plus. If you extrapolate some wheat beers, then you get this aroma. Banana yellow clear colour, some suspended paticles, with good lacing, but awful head. The flavour tatsed like sweet lolly bananas and lacks some hops to balance the sweetness. Palate has a clangy lingering taste that is way too sugary sweet. Overall the banana flavour is different but not my beer thank you. This beer is unique I guess but it tries too hard.

Bottled. Slightly cloudy yellow colour. Small head. Artificial banana aroma. Very sweet banana flavour. This is even worse than Chapeau Banana. Crap!

(Bottle 33 cl) Yellow, slightly hazy with a small, creamy head. Incredibly strong and sweet banana both in aroma and flavours. But also somewhat artificial. According to the list of ingredients none of the Mongozo beers should contain malt! In that case they’re small masterpieces within the art of brewing.... 240705
