2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tumbler glass. ABV 3.6%
Pale yellow colour on the body, with one finger of white, froathy head on top, that disappears straight away, leaving just a trace of lacing on the glass.
Aroma is all bananas, less artificial than I was expecting and less heavy too, not bad.
Taste is full of banana juice and sugars. It begins sickenly sweet but by the end of the sip most of the sweetness has gone away and only the banana flavour stays on the aftertaste. Kind of weird taste overall but I like bananas, so I don’t mind it that much.
Medium body to my surprise, average carbonation.
Overall, it left me with a good impression, I didn’t hold my hopes high for this one but it turned better than I expected.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Opaque lighter yellow with deminishing white foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma and taste are banana dominated (duhh), but still quite nice. Perfect with Belgian waffle. Aftertaste is lasting sweet banana. (Velp 201306)

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Unsurprisingly banana coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aromas and flavours: Banana, candy floss, artificial sweetener, sticky sweet. Drink it very cold and very quickly and it can be kind of enjoyable. Let it warm at all and dispatch down the drain. This lot really isn’t for me, however the banana is better than the mango and coconut.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
For what this is, its pretty good. Tons of banana, served in a cocount shaped cup. Very effervescent, almost sparkling. Sweet, almost nothing that would make you think this is a beer. Nice as dessert on a hot day.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
330ml bottle bought at Belgian Beer Intl in Tsuen Wan. Clear dull golden yellow colour which resembles banana oil; Near zero head and residual white foam which last about 10 seconds; Small and sticky lacing with notable carbonation; Potent smell of banana, banana oil, banana pulp, and candy sugar; Strong sweet taste of banana, banana flavourings, apple cider, cinnamon, and trace of hidden grass; Mid to light body, oily palate; Taste profile is almost all sweet - but surprisingly comfortable and not cloying - banana related, real and artificial. Also some cidery / green apple in the background. Malt taste is pretty much non-existent, as wheat malt took up much of the beer for lighter body; Hoppiness is near zero but detectable at the end, not much of a finish; Slightly dry after taste, extremely easy to mouth.
Comments: believe it or not, this is not as bad as you might think, as I drawn my previous experiences with its parallels, the dreadful ‘fruit beer pops’ from Taiwan Beer and Zhujiang. Yes, they share very similar profiles in looks and body, but this one has a wholesome, spicy taste of banana and cinnamon all the way, while the latter has only bad flavourings of various thickness and ugly soda pop carbonation to show for just a few seconds. Once you’ve experienced those dreary beer pops from this side of the ocean, you will realize the creators of Delirium Tremens did their work with Mongozo’s, albeit the appreciation will be in the minority. Overall it‘s passable, and I will not refuse another serving in the future.
