3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy orange with a huge thick white head. Yeasty Belgian golden ale type aroma. Acidic taste well balanced with some malt sweetness, and an almost saison like taste. Unfortunately, this beer is way overcarbonated. Every sip vaporizes on your tounge in an annoying sizzling flash of bubbles. Maybe they put the extra bubbles in it because the rough interior surface of a gourd will cause a lot of carbonation to come out of solution. While this is a decent Belgian style ale, I was expecting something much more exotic with all of the "authentic African style" hype.

2.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma: Palmnut, caramel, roasted, fruity, pear, floral, alcohol
Appearance: Dark copper with loads of floaters body. Medium, off-white, fizzy head. Good lacing.
Flavour: Strong sourness, light bread/cracker sweetness at the end.
Palate: Medium light body, high carbonation. I can feel the floaters! Astringent.
Overall: The aroma is impressive, but the flavour is overwhelmingly acidic. The floaters are off-putting.
330 ml bottle, poured.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 7%. Deep orange-brown colour, moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Sickly sweetish and nutty aroma, not good at all. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is unfresh, medium sweet, alcoholic and slightly sickly, nutty notes. Hardly any bitterness. Definitely not "my cup of tea"

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
33cl bottle.Dark amber colour with small dirty white head.Roast malt and caramel aromas with also a little spiciness.Flavour of caramel and malt and also the palm nut was in there, the taste reminding me of the palm nut sugar portions sold on the roadsides outside the old capital of Laos.
The best of the Mongozo fruit bunch so far.
