2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
One of those weird quinoa beers to support honest trading practices with the Third World. Refermented with champagne yeast. The result is a somewhat bizarre beer with spicy sweetness in the aroma, something grainy and aniseed-like; taste does not live up to this relatively promising and interesting aroma, grainy, sweetish with a sour, ’wild’ touch.

Dit is echt een bier met een heel slechte smaak. Ik vond er echt helemaal niks aan.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at home. Pours a pale yellow with a large white head. Sweet sour aroma of yeast, wheat (quinua?), bread. Taste is a bit sweet-sour, wheat, yeast, bit of a sour-bitter aftertaste. Strange brew, but not too bad.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head and an aroma of sweet malts, hops, ripe fruits, yeast, lime and yeast. The taste is medium sweet, with a fizzy mouthfeel and a slightly bitter finish. I dislike this "superfood"-bullshit, but this is not a bad beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Despite the hippie bullshit about organic and enviromental friendly, with this one, they paid some attention to the taste of the beer too. It’s a bit sour, malty and has some fresh herbs. Good beer.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Shared a 33cl bottle from Cora (Luxembourg). Pours a clear golden colour with a white lacing. Aroma has not much than malts. Average carbonation and light body. Watery. Taste more sweet than bitter with some metallic notes and an astringent finish. Overall, a drinkable beer, not much more than that.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle bought at Belgian Beer International in Tsuen Wan.
Translucent light honey yellow colour with traces of dirt-like yeast sediments; One finger head with crumpety white foam which lasted for 3 minutes; Good lacing and fizzy carbonation; Fragrant sweet smell of malt, with honey, sugar, light raisins and plums, light floral, perfume and yeast; Mid to light sweet taste of light malt, with strong wheatyness, orange flesh and zest, coriander, light grapefruit and pomelo, strong spice, biscuits, Bel yeast, lime, light liquorices and grass; Mid to light body. Dry, crisp and slightly slickpalate; Mouth feels is like a strong-tasting Belgian White, malty and dry but without the wheaty tartness. Strong Wit-fruitness as in rich orange, grapefruit and pomelo, plus very strong spices and herbs (strangely without the cloves), all under the very distinctive Bel yeast. Amazing!... Hoppiness is nice floral, perfume nose, strong spicy herbal grass in taste. Light liquorices plus bitter hops for a low but lasting bitter finish; Dry after taste, crisp and tasty to mouth.
Comments: If this is blind-tasted, I swear this is a turbo-charged Belgian White, with almost all of the Wit characters being so rich and expressive. So I am genuinely surprised that this ‘Witbier’ was brewed entirely with quinoa - yes, there’s no barley malt listed on the label - and it’s good enough to warrant repeated purchase. A definite Summer refreshment. Hoegaarden? Bite the dust!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a golden slightly unclear beer with a good white head. Smells watery, bit fruity. Tastes some what the same. Not that bad. Average carbo, thin body and a watery texture.
