Fresh aroma and flavor of floral hops with hints of yeast, citrus and spices. Nice!

Despite the hippie bullshit about organic and enviromental friendly, with this one, they paid some attention to the taste of the beer too. It’s a bit sour, malty and has some fresh herbs. Good beer.

Shared a 33cl bottle from Cora (Luxembourg). Pours a clear golden colour with a white lacing. Aroma has not much than malts. Average carbonation and light body. Watery. Taste more sweet than bitter with some metallic notes and an astringent finish. Overall, a drinkable beer, not much more than that.

330 ml bottle bought at Belgian Beer International in Tsuen Wan.

Translucent light honey yellow colour with traces of dirt-like yeast sediments; One finger head with crumpety white foam which lasted for 3 minutes; Good lacing and fizzy carbonation; Fragrant sweet smell of malt, with honey, sugar, light raisins and plums, light floral, perfume and yeast; Mid to light sweet taste of light malt, with strong wheatyness, orange flesh and zest, coriander, light grapefruit and pomelo, strong spice, biscuits, Bel yeast, lime, light liquorices and grass; Mid to light body. Dry, crisp and slightly slickpalate; Mouth feels is like a strong-tasting Belgian White, malty and dry but without the wheaty tartness. Strong Wit-fruitness as in rich orange, grapefruit and pomelo, plus very strong spices and herbs (strangely without the cloves), all under the very distinctive Bel yeast. Amazing!... Hoppiness is nice floral, perfume nose, strong spicy herbal grass in taste. Light liquorices plus bitter hops for a low but lasting bitter finish; Dry after taste, crisp and tasty to mouth.

Comments: If this is blind-tasted, I swear this is a turbo-charged Belgian White, with almost all of the Wit characters being so rich and expressive. So I am genuinely surprised that this ‘Witbier’ was brewed entirely with quinoa - yes, there’s no barley malt listed on the label - and it’s good enough to warrant repeated purchase. A definite Summer refreshment. Hoegaarden? Bite the dust!

Pours a golden slightly unclear beer with a good white head. Smells watery, bit fruity. Tastes some what the same. Not that bad. Average carbo, thin body and a watery texture.

330ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden amber colour, thin white head and aroma of grain, wheat, fruity, yeast. Grainy flavour, with yeasty, earthy & spicy notes plus alittle bitterness. Light bodied, high carbonation, dry finish. OK

Clear yellow with small white foam ring. Aroma is hard to place, not nice though. Taste is very complex and bit strange. Don't think will have this again. (Velp 201310) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium tyngde.

I mean what do you except? The bottle / label design looks lousy, the name is lousy and I only know Quinua / Quinoa from some dinners I cooked after I gave birth to my daughter and wanted everything to be halthy, whole food and stuff like that. But actually I got quite surprised, this beer was quite better tahn expected. The looks were just awful...cloudy yellow colour with low steady creamy head and medium body. Nose was okay.....nuts and hops. But the taste was really intersting. Something in between Hoegaarden and Berliner Weisse. Sour hops, sour barley, light malt, grass and sea salt. Easy to drink and really refreshing. Special one, but not that bad.

Best thing about that one: From first to last it is a like a Hoegarden, Sour with some grain in the back. Its missing some aromas but it is still a good one when you need to refresh yourself in a bit classy way. Recommendable ? Yes.
