Formerly brewed for Inlet Brewing Co. (ex Jupiter Brewing Co.) by Orlando Brewing Co., now by Thomas Creek.

This unique copper-colored ale derives its fruity, slightly spicy aroma from authentic Belgian Abbey yeast. The subtle nutty and malty sweet flavors sing in harmony with the freshest organic hops vailable. Monk In the Trunk devotees are known to chant about its most intriguing quality, true drinkability.

This is a terrific brew. A friend turned me on to it down here in South Florida, Iím so glad that he did. It has great flavor, color, and texture. And itís great to see it being sold in more nearby locations to my house - including my local 7-Eleven. Awesome! It will always be offered in my home when guests come over!

Bottle/12oz - Pours a hazy darkish amber in color with a small white head that hug around to produce some minor lacing on the glass. Aroma is of fruity yeasts, sweet malts and nutty grains. Flavor is slightly sweet... the Belgian yeast is noticeable and welcome... adds some fruity esters. Nutty grains still come through. Lingering sweetness. Surprisingly good...

Pours brilliantly clear orange/gold with a small white head that falls quickly. Light malt aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet with just enough hop bitterness to balance. Pretty simple, uncomplicated beer. Good lawnmower beer.

Bottle into New Belgium stemware. Slightly hazy, deep amber, bordering on red hue. Thinnish head that doesnít want to stick around. Aroma of super-fruity Belgian funk, some penny, some 5-cent fruit-shaped candy. Palate feels slightly watery. Flavor lacks depth. In some ways reminiscent of oversweet homebrews Iíve had. Like an abbey dubbel lite.

Had the beer on draft and it seemed a little undercarbonated. Aroma had a hint of spice.

Bottle from Liz. Pours amber with a creamy white head. LIght spicy aroma, hint of nut. Med body; foamy carb. It first suggests a pils, then nut and spice pop in. Pretty drinkable beer. Balanced.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 01/06/2012. Clear amber pour with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt, caramel and mild hops. Light body with flavors of bready malt, caramel and lightly bitter hops. The finish is short and malty. Pretty average overall.

Bottled purchased at Total Wine & More (Naples, FL). Poured a small off-white very fizzy head that mostly diminiished. One ring of lacinig, transparent body and a copper hue. The flavor was crisp, hoppy, sweet, fruity, yeasty, some hints of malt, and spicy. The flavor was sweet, malty, hoppy, spicy, and nutty. The mouthfeel was very tingly and this is a light to medium bodied beer. Overall, this is an easy beer to drink and a decent flavor.
