COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
All hail the Rich Mans IPA! A bold copper-colored beer with beautiful gold edges, and crowned with a strong white head. The aroma is grassy with a nice orange and malt presence. The mouthfeel is smooth and solid, with malt that backs up the sticky bitterness. The taste is pine, citrus, and a light malt sweetness that all interplays with the alcohol. Hops, hops, hops, and more hops! Occupy a bar stool, the 1% of beers has arrived!

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is solid hoppy. Crisp bitter, mango and peachy. Smooth sweet, solid hoppy leading towards a more dry and bitter finish.

Draft at the brewpub - San Diego. Pours hazy gold with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma has spicy pine, jammy citrus, some dry orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with bready pale malts, bitter and spicy pine, ripe citrus, hints of marmalade, dried flowers. Medium to full bodied with fine, chewy carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, somewhat resinous, more pine, florals and rindy citrus. Pretty drinkable.

Can from Bine and Vine. Pours copper with a slight white head. Aromas of brown sugar, resin and citrus. Full bodied with significant carbonation. First impression is brown sugar, then resin and citrus. It finishes pretty darn bitter, always with that lurking roasted malt background. Damn tasty ale. Enough hop to preserve flesh.

Pours a hazy amber color with a fluffy off-white head. Strong citric character with lots of grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon peel. There is a nice touch of pine and some sweet toffee malt. A bit of floral hops in there, too. The flavor is a good blend of sweetness and bitterness. Plenty of pine and grapefruit peel with a very strong citric hop profile and flavor. The bitterness is mostly present on the finish.

Tap at Monkey Paw. Clear golden pour. Good white lacing. Nose is sticky, some noble rot grape, vanilla oil. Interesting- different. Taste is clean, juicy, tangy. Wicked bitter hop body. Holy monkey.

Draught Small off-white head over pale amber beer with a cold haze. Rather subdued mandarine nose, not really outspoken, but nice. Maltier than expected, good malts present, but the citrussy, mandarine hopflavour arrives later with a vengeance. Slick, medium bodied, dry and tart MF, especially in the finish. Not really impressive, but at least very decent.

A pretty weak IPA, especially by SD standards. It is super sweet with no hop bitterness whatsoever.

16oz can pours clear amber gold with off white head of foam leaving behind spotty lacing. The aroma offers up an odd mix of spicy to resiny sap like hop notes, biscuit malts and slivers of citrus hard candy. The taste seems to be at odds with itself as malt sweetness, biscuit malts and a bit of roasted malts are trying to blend into resiny bitter hops, spicy hops and some cherry flavored hard candy. It just isnít coming together all that well. With all the amazing hoppy brews about town this one is a disappointment.
