COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Downs Family Irish Stout is flavorful and robust despite its modest 5.1% ABV. The aroma is full of coffee, chocolate, and roast. The flavor is bold, roasty, and smooth. A black beer with a strong cocoa-tinted head with endless lacing as you drink. The Downs Family Irish Stout was named after the Folk/Punk mainstays of San Diego. A great beer for a great band!

Pours thick and black with a thin nitrous bubble head. The nose is chocolate, coffee, little bit of toffee and some dry nutty notes with a nice little spice hint. The taste is high sweet, low bitter. Kinda plain. The texture is super creamy and smooth, the body is medium and the finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at brewery. Black with a creamy light brown head. Light roasted grain aroma and taste with a dry lightly bitter finish and lingering chocolate and grain flavors. Velvety light bodied palate.

Draught Wow. Taster glass is a 100% correct pint o’ the black cows’ milk on scale 1/4. This merits an extra point. Roasted, smoked, and somehow, faintly sprout-like nose. Sweet, less bitter/roasted than Guinness, and certainly without the typical stout acidity of the roasted barley. Very creamy, thick MF, but only medium bodied at best. Finish is better resistant than most. Quite meriting stout.

On tap at Monkey Paw. Pours a pure black color with a grey head. The aroma is smooth light milky malts. The flavor is much like a smooth Guinness, some roast, caramel, milky, light flavor. Thick body. Good.
