Terrible. I don't know how this could be considered an IPA. Terrible. I tried to tell myself I was drinking a Traditional instead if an IPA but even that didn't help. Poured 75% of the bottle down the drain. Did I mention this is a terrible beer? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma was of wheat but a bit funky. Pours a much deeper amber than I would expect from an IPA. Spent $10 on this thinking it was from Britain and realized it’s local Big Rock when I got home. Oops. Not too bad, definitely lacking the hop punch I would like - it tastes like typical Alberta wheat beer with some malts tossed in.

Amber gold color. Smells of bread and caramel. Tastes of bread, caramel, brown sugar, and vanilla with a very mild hop bitterness on the palate. Overall is a fairly drinkable beer but without any special qualities. Not really enough hops to warrant being called an IPA.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Amber color, clean, with compact head. Mild aroma of caramel and grains. Correct body strength, not dry not sweet; strong caramel flavor, with an accent of grains and cereals; strong bitterness, with tired dusty hop resins and no fresh fruity hop character.
Drinkable beer, but rather boring IPA/DIPA.

From the big bottle. Smells of heavy malts, caramel some bitter hop. Taste is like a mellow scotch ale. Heavy on the malts up front with a lingering hop bitterness on the finish. Too harsh on my palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sparkling amber,scarce bead.Small beige head.Vague alcohol/malt nose.Starts like a meaty barleywine,malt & alcohol, late lasting hop bitterness. Diacetyl hints

Small off white head on top a a very clear deep copper colour. Nose is toffee and candied fruit with some pine and earth. Sweet caramel to start with a moderate bitterness but a bit light for a DIPA. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation. Well balanced and probably the best from Big Rock that i have tried.

Bottle. Slow building foam on dark amber. Light fruity scent much quieter than expected. Strong caramel malt flavour. Thick body with strong alcohol partnership. A bit of hop spice.

On tap at Portside, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Nose of candied caramel malt, resinous hops and Belgian yeast. Flavour certainly brings out a Belgian IPA hybrid, with notes of resinous hops, Belgian yeast, and candied sugar. A little too sweet for an IPA for me, but this is balanced decently well. Not bad at all, especially for Big Rock.
