Interesting cloudy copper/red color on the pour. Sweet berry aromas with mellow spice flavor and a smooth silk like mouth feel. Gota like the alcohol to taste ratio.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Aroma of sweet, honeyish malt, floral tones, yeast esters, faint spice, light alcohol, faintly herbal hops, slight perfume and a hint of breadiness. Pretty nice nose overall. Lightly hazy red-orange in color (final pour is significantly more opaque) with a fine, slight, lasting head. Flavor profile is sweet, yeasty, floral and lightly bitter, some tropical fruit, melon and pear, faint hints of hibiscus, very nicely balanced, though. Smoothly carbonated mouthfeel, body is full. Quite enjoyable.

Had on tap at Stone Liberty Station in San Diego. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a thin white head. Flavor is really sweet. Malty. But too sweet. Decent.

>> Rose orange pour, clear-ish, with weak pink foam. Nose is fresh and citrusy clean, sharp lemon and true strawberry. Taste is sugary up front, sour and boozy mid palate, clean and doughy end with a slightly papery finish. Pretty enjoyable. Higher alcohol unnecessary.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reddish amber color, moderate head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is floral (going out on a limb here and saying hibiscus) with notes of yeast, light caramel, somewhat fruity. Medium bodied, alcohol hidden well, fairly sweet. Doesn’t seem like a tripel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample pour, thanks to the employees at Central Coast. Aroma is sweet, orange, some herbal quality, yeast, spice. Pours cloudy amber with small head. Taste is up front orange, malty, semi-sweet some spice. Body is medium with medium-low carbonation. After taste is spice and orange peel. Overall not a bad tripel, but the hibiscusis really hard to pick up on, maybe even absent from the overall profile. Lot’s of fruity aspects to the beer to take its place.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells very nicely; hibiscus comes forth, belgian yeast, lots of sugar. Pours gorgeous hazy amber dark brown-orange. Mouthfeel is medium carbonation. Taste is sweet, medium to full body, with LOTS, and I mean lots, of malts. It makes it seem more like a dubbel at times than a tripel. I think this is a little too maltforward for my tastes, as far as triples go. It is also conceptually deficient: ’feminist’ would be better off showing a beer that is usually taken to be ’light’ in a very forward context; say a fruit beer going big on body and flavor profile. Still, a very nice and competent beer.
