Sample from 18 cl. bottle. Pitch black with a thin, bubbly tanned head. Roasted aroma with thick, dark malts, oak, vanilla, red grapes, sweet and dark, dried fruits. Taste is bitter/roasted. Full body with an oily texture and a flat carbonation. Lasting dry and roasted finish with a solid impression from the Amarone wine. Excellent blend. Best beer of the evening.

Bottle - black thin pour with tiny head. Aroma and taste is gentle roasted malty, some choc, vineous, slick mouthfeel, nice wooden nuances, lovely.

Bottle 18 cl. Pours a murky and opaque black with a beige head. Roasty, oxidized aroma with a tart hint. Rich, fat body, low carbonation, quite some oak and - I think - whisky. Very rich and filling. 170115

Bottle from 2009 opened in Dec 2014. I’m not familiar with any of the source beers from this blend but it certainly has held up well. Plenty of carbonation (not a gusher though) and a smooth, tasty mixture. I pick up licorice, brown sugar, toffee/caramel. Really fortunate to get this in the EU Secret Santa last year!

Bottle @ home 20140828. Black opaque with a small brown head, low-medium carbonation. Aroma of licorice, tobacco, raisins, plums, rum, vanilla, cherries. Taste is plums, raisins, vanilla, figs, burnt tobacco (almost lika a cigar), almonds. Very rich and complex. Very nice, although a little bit too much on the burnt side for me.

Bottle, 180ml. A dark reddish brown beer, lightly unclear, and with some beige bubbles on top. The aroma has roasted malts, coffee and dried fruits, with some vinous raisin notes. It’s full-bodied and warming on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Pretty vinous flavor too, with chocolate, raisins and some coffee notes. Lasting vinous finish. Pretty lovely this one. 140418
