Svesse (5240) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - FEB 11, 2013

(Draught at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm, 18 Dec 2012. 6.5%) Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby. Dense beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, liquorice, salmiak, chocolate and hints of ashes. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark rye bread, chocolate and a fairly dry finish with a short bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Quite nice, but lacking something extra.

On tap at the brewpub. Full bodied, black, there is a sour edge to this that I did not really enjoy. Not totally off, but almost.

Draught (Monks Cafe, Sveavägen, Stockholm) - Dark brown in colour. Coffee, plain chocolate and vinous fruits in the aroma. Fruity and slightly roasted taste, with some tart notes and hints of plain chocolate and coffee.
