Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2009. Amber offwhite head. Roasted malt aroma, burnt sugar, vanilla and milk. Malty vanilla flavor, milky, a bit thin.

(Draught at Monk’s Café Sveavägen, Stockholm, 14 Sep 2011) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, raisins, prunes and brown sugar. Malty, toasty taste with dark bread, crispbread, raisins, treacle and a touch of brown sugar. Medium body, with a mild spicy bitterness and a certain sweetness. Decent.

Draught at Monks Porterhouse, Stockholm. Crystal clear copper colour with fluffy head. Fruity caramel nose. Good malty aroma. Sweet and rounded malt flavour with good caramel backbone. Slight nutty with hints of toastiness. Solid and flavourful Dunkel that is true to style.

Draft. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of butter and honey. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and nuts, leading to a dry and lightly bitter finish.

Draught (Monks Cafe, Sveavägen, Stockholm) - Copper coloured. Fruity aroma with some spicy and roasted otes. Fruity taste with raisins, caramel and spicy malt followed by some slightly roasted and nutty notes.

Draught@Monks Café, Sveavägen, Stockholm. Deep rubyish amber colour. Small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some malts and a bit rubbery notes. Flavour is darkdry fruits, malts, caramel, some rubber and mild earth.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2009 On tap. Comes as "Monks Dark Lager". Clear orangey brown with a creamy, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of roasted malt and a whiff of butter. Medium body, fairly sweet roasted malt and a vague caramel note. Almost no bitterness. 011108
