COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A ruckus of complex flavor is carried in on the amber glow of torchlight. As tension builds between hop bitterness and the malty tones delivered by locally grown and malted grist, a perfect balance is achieved. The robust texture of rye allies itself with the flavors from specialty malts and hops to rebel against preconceived notions of beer. Unseat the crown. Start a Riot.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2015 Bottles became available yesterday in the Frederick, MD area. 12oz bottle poured into pint glass. Clear golden orange color with a finger of creamy off-white head. Aroma of citrus/light floral hops and toasty malt. Taste is caramel malt well balanced with hop bitterness ending with rye spiciness. Medium body and carbonation. Good stuff.

Less a "ruckus of complex flavor", more of a muddle. The rye is cloaked and the roasted malt doesn’t play well with the piney citrus. Not a good effort.

Bottle from Perfect Pour. Dark brown caramel body with thin, puffy head. Nose is hoppy, but also of grains, spices and malts. Taste is quite hoppy, a nice IPA style, with funkier spicier notes. Burning finish. Just a really nice beer. Really well done.

Bottled. Deep reddish brownish. That clean minty rye taste and smell. Malty heart. Pretty nice.

Bottle. Hazy Amber. Large head. Smells of black tea with hints of citrus. Taste is a lightly fruity malty mix of dried leaves, tea, dark fruits, and citrus peel. This is tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep amber with tight, fluffy head. Heavily citrus and slightly resinous nose. Spice was not immediately apparent. Very effervescent on the palate. Rye comes through, but is just a bit discordant with the hop character. Finishes with resin and lightly spicy. A solid beer, but not the cleanest blend of rye. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: clear bright copper, with a fat finger of creamy, frothy, off-white head that has excellent staying power and leaves plenty of lace. Aroma: awesome smells of rustic grains, crusty rye bread, light sage, grapefruit, apricot, orange zest, and light floral honey. Taste: slightly spicy, with a nice caramel sweetness on the malt side, with a pleasant wave of citrus, light resin, and some general soft earth. Finish: dries out nice and slow, with a lasting sweet-spicy-bitter note that’s perfectly balanced; palate was slightly slick, but in a good way. Notes: Man, I am a sucker for a good rye beer. This has got to be one of my absolute favorites ever. Absolutely blown away by the craftsmanship of this. Would drink again. Bottle from Ye Old Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, 4/4/15. Clear copper, large foamy off-white head. Good retention. Aroma of strong rye, herbal notes, caramel malt. The taste is fruity and bitter rye, toasted malt, caramel malt, piney finish. Thin-medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness.

Nice looking mahogany colored beer with a rich light tan head. Spicy nose of cedar, resin, and burnt orange peel. Flavor starts with a tongue-coating bitterness of citrus and pine followed by wood and leather. The rye is subtle and comes through on the back end with a bit of sweet malt. Nice beer.
