2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hazy orange color, small off-white head. Candy sugar, orange peels and cardboard in the nose. Medium-bodied, even a bit on thin side. Sweet jelly at first then hoppy bite and banana with some candy sugar. Very strange bock. Somehow Dutch like, also lemonady feeling here.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2009 500ml bottle (Poirotti Kallio, Helsinki)
Rich brown. Lagery aroma, but certainly big and malty, a touch marmitey too. Pleasant esters, but quite simple. OK bock, nothing special.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 6.5%. Peppery and slightly caramelly aroma. Clear red amber colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is quite sweet. It has some dark sugar, slightly burnt. There is some malt syrup flavour to it as well. The burnt sugar gives off a slightly unpleasant bitterness, other than that, the beer is OK.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle: Hazy caramel colored pour with a thin cap that fades. Caramel is prominent in the nose, very creamy but ultimately one dimensional. Thin body offers malty notes of honey, straw and toffee. Some esthers work to add depth, but I would like to see more interplay with the yeast. A middle of the road bock.
