Cloudy, quite dark amber body, with a everlasting, very dense and creamy head that leaves a beautiful curtain of Belgian lace on my trappist chalice. Delicious, strong and sweet aroma with spices, yeast, flowers and fruits (I actually get banana from this one). The taste is light sweet with a long moderate bitter finish. Strong flavours of spices, yeast, citrus, fruits, honey and alcohol. Medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation. A lovely brown tripel, but a bit too alcoholic.

Subtle smell of hops, malts and spices. Pillowy and flaky head, quickly going flat. Looks like pondwater. Light brown color, gold when held up against light. Taste of liquorice root and a lot of hops. Distinct fruity sour notes, a bit tart and acidic around the finish. Medium body with strong carbonation; the latter seeming a bit out of place.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2013 Bottle. Taste likes a mix between la trappe tripel and Orval which is surprisingly good. Pleasant taste and as much carbonation as the chimay beers but it doesn’t have their fullness in body and flavor. --- Rated by Victor

Bottle grabbed in Brussels solely because it was brewed at Abbey Scourmont. Pours a nice amber color with a white head and good lacing. Lots of caramel in the aroma. Flavor lends itself towards a tripel with a little caramel sweetness and slight alcohol. Nice and gets better as it warms a touch.

bleek amber/bruin met minimale kraag, maar dat kan komen doordat er tijdens het openen een kwart eruit spoot
aroma: mout, zoet, gist
smaken: matig zoet, redelijk bitter, sterk , licht fruitig, matig gemout, matige kruidig, hoppig, pepertje
medium body, dun van textuur, laag co2, afdronk kruidig en wat droog
niet mijn bier, de gist, kruiden en bitterheid overheersen.

Pours an orange amber beer with a good white head. Smells sweet and bit fruity. Tastes licorice and malts. Lively carbo, medium body and a sticky texture.

Smak och doft av karamell, trä, brunt socker, torkad frukt, nötter och jäst. Fruktig och syrlig. Bra beska.

Stubby 330 ml bottle, poured into a trappist glass at home. ABV 7.6% Dark amber in colour, transparent, with tiny bubbles rising to the surface constantly. One finger of off-white to light beige head, with good retention. After finally the most of it has collapsed, a thin film of foam remains on the surface. Light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, some dark fruits, plums. Not so very good on the taste unfortunately. It begins with a metallic flavour, some light caramel. Sweet but at least not too much. Notes of alcohol. Thick body, good soft carbonation. Overall, this is not what I am used to from trappist beers or abbey ones. Seeing that this is the only one they make too, I expected much more. It lacks the complexity and well, much more of a trappist.

Amber coloured Trappist beer, new in town. Lively medium bodied beer of which the aroma is closer to Orval than to the other traditional Trappists. The finish is quite long and pleasant, all in all a pleasant surprise from a newcomer
