Thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass light brown, small head. Starts milder than exspected, fine malty, more and more dry. Some sharp-fruity notes. Finish again milder, dry-malty finish. Exspected more.

330ml bottle from Beer-city

Pours dark orange with a smooth thick white head. Aroma of yeast, dark ripe fruits, spices and some maltiness. Taste is malty, yeasty and spicy with notes of dark ripe fruits and hints of plums. Finish is yeasty, malty and warming. Quite balanced and tasty.

Hazy amber beer, good fluffy off white head. Palate is dry and a little crisp. Thin creamy malt. Minerals. Slightly bitter yeast. Touch of candy fruits before dry finish with medium hop bitterness. It’s fine but too dry.

Bottle (33 cl) from beergium.be. Shady amber, medium off-white head. Bready malt aroma with some almond paste, bubble gum, and floral hops. Medium bodied, medium to high carbonation. Dry with medium bitterness. Very Chimay-ish but not as good as their regular products.

Cloudy, quite dark amber body, with a everlasting, very dense and creamy head that leaves a beautiful curtain of Belgian lace on my trappist chalice. Delicious, strong and sweet aroma with spices, yeast, flowers and fruits (I actually get banana from this one). The taste is light sweet with a long moderate bitter finish. Strong flavours of spices, yeast, citrus, fruits, honey and alcohol. Medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation. A lovely brown tripel, but a bit too alcoholic.

Subtle smell of hops, malts and spices. Pillowy and flaky head, quickly going flat. Looks like pondwater. Light brown color, gold when held up against light. Taste of liquorice root and a lot of hops. Distinct fruity sour notes, a bit tart and acidic around the finish. Medium body with strong carbonation; the latter seeming a bit out of place.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2013 Bottle. Taste likes a mix between la trappe tripel and Orval which is surprisingly good. Pleasant taste and as much carbonation as the chimay beers but it doesn’t have their fullness in body and flavor. --- Rated by Victor

Bottle grabbed in Brussels solely because it was brewed at Abbey Scourmont. Pours a nice amber color with a white head and good lacing. Lots of caramel in the aroma. Flavor lends itself towards a tripel with a little caramel sweetness and slight alcohol. Nice and gets better as it warms a touch.
