Amberkleurig, veel kraag die wel redelijk blijft. Aroma van voornamelijk mout, vleugje zoet fruit. Smaakt vrij bitter met wat zoetfruit tonen en mout. Niks bijzonders.

Bottle courtesy Bu11zeye. Pours a slightly clear orange color with a foamy white head. There's a bit of suspended sediment in this. Aroma is Belgian yeast, banana and clove. Sweet Belgian flavorings. I approve of this.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2013 Has an almost amber colour. Caramel sweetness is present and also mild spiciness. A bit too gassy. Medium bitter finish.

Big off white creamy and slowly changing foamy head on top of a murky orange to amberish colored beer.
Aromas of glue, dirty malts, old hops, tobacco, some figs, creamy barleys, prunes, paint, grains. I donít like the smell that much.
Flavours of old dirty malts, dirty bitter, some spices, herbs, tea herbs, a light glowing warmth, old hops, aome dried fruits, nasty barley malts, some yeast. Not good, donít like it. It even turns worse and worse with every sip I take. Ready for a drain pour, luckily I shared the bottle. So not much to pour down the drain!
Aftertaste of (close to) nasty bitter, malts, some bitterness,
Low carbo, soft wateey mouthfeel, medium and bit thinner body and a watery texture.
Why that high score on Ratebeer, this is not more than a very mediocre Belgian beer/ale. Not my cup of tea. This is bad stuff!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled from biernavigatie.nl. Orange/brown colored, beautiful lasting head. Malty nose, orange, pepper, nutmeg perhaps, bit Saison-like. Malty and fruity flavor, sweetness, more dry in finish. Pretty high on carbonation. Lasting dry finish. Interesting (semi) Trappist ale, definitely differs from the other Chimay brews. A bit too spicy for me, and slightly over-carbonated, but certainly not bad.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2013 33cl bottle
Herbs, flowers, mown grass, sweet.
Amberblond, white foam head, lasting long, no lacing, little sparkling.
Bitter start, herbs, flowers, sweetness, grassy, hot spices.
Slowly arriving bitter finish. Kicked off a bit too hard for me, but the taste grew on me.
