Amber coloured Trappist beer, new in town. Lively medium bodied beer of which the aroma is closer to Orval than to the other traditional Trappists. The finish is quite long and pleasant, all in all a pleasant surprise from a newcomer

Kaatuu trappistipikariin kullankeltaisena ja sameana vaahdon ollessa 1,5 sormen paksuinen ja melko kestävä, belgimäiseen tapaan. Hajussa on kuivattua hedelmää, toffeeta ja päärynää, taustalla tuntuu hedelmäinen belgihiiva. Kaiken kaikkiaan kuitenkin hieman vaisu tuoksu.

Bottled. Pours hazy amber with a huge, white head, that leaves a fair lacing. Aroma of caramel, yeast, a bit of fruit and spicy notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with bitter notes. Medium bodied, oily text. and lively carb. A quite plane Belgian style beer.

Amber color beer with small white head. Aroma of fruits, raisins ... Tastes fruity, malty ... Aftertaste is warm, yeasty with bit too much alcohol. Note my favorite trappist.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2013 Very nice crisp and slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with hints of an orange tint and a peach highlight, all with a one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, pit fruits, raisins, figs, pears, plums and yeast - very nice throughout. Medium-bodied; Nice yeastie flavour up front with a good subdued pit fruit and raisin sweetness with a little depth of malt on the backend. Aftertaste shows some earth and nuts, a bit of alcohol warmth and the yeast that dominates throughout. Overall, a nice trappist beer that I had never seen before, but of course - loved to see it here in Belgium! I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle purchased from De HopDuvel in Gent, Belgium on 16-August-2013 for €2,50 sampled in my hotel room here across the border in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg on 18-August-2013.

For a trappist that does one beer, this is really nice. They could get wound around the spokes in doing other beers but they do one. With that said, this is a really nice beer. It has a lovely amber color that is a bit hazy with the yeast in it. Sweet to the nose but with some spice and some aged hops (another term for old hops). Tastes sweet again with spice, fruit and some zing at the end. I would put this beer in my fridge to have every now and then as it is pretty solid. This beer also has closed the door for me to if there are any good French beers as it was kind of a thought of mine 6-7 years ago as to if there were any.
