33 cl. bottle, shared. Amber-orange colour with a medium sized, dense white head. Fruity aroma with apricot, caramel and bread malts, yeasts and candid sugar. An alcohol note. Taste is sweet with a hint of alcohol. Medium body and a lively carbonation. Finishes bitter and fruity with alcohol. A decent beer but inferior compered to the Chimay beers.

bottle @ home .
poured into my orval glass.
no shit. the beer looks just like orval when poured ! dont know why but i expected a brown one, this is amber coloured, with a very, very nice fluffy , stable head. just lmike orval ! is the glass the secret of the foam ???
not much scent. maybe some bitter notes? some yeast?
taste is sweet, some caramel notes, grainy a bit, some bitterness in the late aftertaste. carbonation is very high . i think this is just on that border when i call it ’ too much’ . it also hasd that taste .. i cannot describe in another way than ’authentic’ where the trapist ( its not even a style, i know) are all so good in .

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet.no enjoyed at home
Deep copper hazy, nice creamy beige head. Smells of raisins, dark fruits, ficus and malts. Moderate sweet, apples, dried fruits, quite dry mouthfeel, pricky lively carbonation, sparkly texture. Moderate fruit bitter finish. Nice belgian style, quite complex aromas. I really didn’t have any expectations about this one; the trappist symbol doesn’t mean anything for a totally new brewery. But the quality is good; i can live with calling this a trappist beer. Of course, all of the other has better beers, but it’s a touch group of beers to compete against

--> leckeres Trappistenbier! Solide und gut!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2013 Pours a thick head of which little lasts, slightly cloudy amber colour, lively carbonation. Taste starts of smooth with some herbs and caramel, then turns rather bitter/hoppy for an abbey with an also relatively big alcoholic flavour. Both bitterness and alcohol don?t really last, making it an easy drinkable beer.
